Understand repair fundamentals and perform them as well as any cut and trim activities required to prepare the blade for finishingJob Description
Roles and Responsibilities
- Grind glass to the bottom of the defect
- Count glass layers affected by the bottom of defect
- Identify glass layers according to repair plan
- Measure and cut required glass according to repair plan
- Lay-up glass layers according to repair plan
- Common semi-complex repairs – ply drops, balsa, offsets, two BODs, consolidation, inside-out, flange
- Scuff laminate
- Apply glue to areas that have voids (inside and outside the blade).
- Employees working inside the blade must adhere name plate to the outside of root.
- Follow work instructions and change and adapt to the work instructions as they change.
- Clean out inside of blade of dust debris.
- Designated blade attendants check the blade temperature and styrene level every 15 minutes to ensure safe levels. If unsafe, they are to notify HSE.
- Use an iPad to upload evidence on DBC website.
- Use shopfloor to upload repair pictures
Required Qualifications
- Certifications in Confined Space, CPR/AED, and Laminate Repair Level 1 “performing”
- Ability to operate basic hand and power tools, and heavy machinery
- Ability to lift or carry objects or materials up to 40 lbs.
- Ability to read blueprints / work instructions / safety protocols
- English comprehension for effective work-related verbal and written communication.
- Ability to work individually and part of a team
- Must have strong communication skills.
- Must be able to stand/walk for long periods of time.
- Requires usage of respirator.
- Physical demands outlined in Job Analysis.
- Basic math skills and some computer literacy.
- Use of hands for scraping and intricate detailing
Desired Characteristics
- High School Diploma/GED or related work experience.
- Previous manufacturing experience preferred
- Previous Fiberglass experience helpful.
Position Shift: 7:00am-3:30pm
Wage:
For Candidates applying, it is a U.S. based position, the base pay for this position is $25.24 - $31.58.
