Job Description Summary

The Engineering Technical Leader demonstrates accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives. This is a leadership position that integrates and develops processes that meet business needs across the organization and requires long-term planning. This role contributes to the overall strategy of the business and manages complex issues within the Systems Engineering area.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Lead a global, cross-business team responsible for GEH - Nuclear Advanced Reactor Nuclear Systems Engineering team.
  • Provide leadership, resources and training needed to ensure high quality deliverables in accordance with customer requirements, business procedures and regulatory agency guidelines.
  • Lead activities which include:
  • The delivery of cohesive, high quality technical solutions to commercial, DOE, NASA, and DOD customers of the new plant businesses in an on-time manner.
  • The development, maintenance, application and improvement of design and analysis processes (including procedures).
  • The support of business growth initiatives, including new product and services introductions, and the development of innovative technical solutions for new plants by staying current in industry trends and partnering with stakeholders leveraging industry relationships.
  • The development of technical talent and technical depth within the organization by creating a positive learning environment that utilizes coaching and mentoring as examples.
  • Technical fields in this organization include: Sodium fast reactor technology design and analysis for research and power reactors. High-temperature gas reactors for terrestrial and space micro-reactor applications. HALEU and high-enriched research and test reactors.

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS degree in mechanical, electrical, systems, or nuclear engineering.
  • Mandatory minimum of 10 years of experience in a business and/or technical environment.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a technical leadership role.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working with customers.
     

Desired Qualifications:

  • Actual leadership experience and working knowledge in design, plant systems, and/or operational experience at one or more nuclear power plants
  • MS Engineering degree.
  • Proven ability to create real and positive change, think creatively, and respond rapidly to changing priorities and customer needs.
  • Extensive technical knowledge of at least one of the technical fields within the organization.
  • Open communication style and proven ability to develop team relationships, including global teams.
  • Demonstrated business knowledge with cross-functional awareness.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Knowledge of GEH's products, business processes, customers, and competitive environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish a vision and direction for a new organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a large, matrixed team with multiple demands and priorities.
  • Demonstrated project management skills, including cost and schedule control.

This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $111,200.00 and $213,200.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.

 

 

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
