Job Description Summary

The Lead Project Quality Engineer will be responsible for executing supply chain project quality activities for GVH Advanced Nuclear projects.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Perform project execution activities for Advanced Nuclear projects focusing on  quality control of the procurement activities.
  • Work proactively with suppliers to define specific quality requirements, including development of inspection, verification, and qualification processes, in addition to tests and processes to assure products and services meet the GVH and customer quality requirements.
  • Provide technical guidance to suppliers toward assuring product/process compliance with engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Work proactively with suppliers to resolve quality concerns applying technical and quality expertise to deliver project quality requirements.
  • Execute supplier quality surveillance program for New Reactor activities.
  • Disposition of supplier non-conforming products
  • Demonstrated knowledge of 10CFR50 Appendix B, ASME, NQA-1, CSA N299, CSA N285, ISO-19443 and ISO-9001 standards.
  • Write and review technical quality documents, plans and procedures
  • Knowledge of Nuclear welding and non-destructive examination processes
  • Experience in conducting quality inspections of equipment, components, or systems to ensure compliance with quality and regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain a customer focused team environment.
  • Support future error prevention through the use of the corrective action processes.
  • Must be willing to travel to supplier and customer sites as required. (Up to 50%)

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Associate degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in engineering, manufacturing, manufacturing engineering support or working in a nuclear quality assurance related capacity.

Eligibility Requirement:

  • Willing and able to travel up to 40% (domestic and international)

Desired Characteristics:

  • Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering from an accredited college or university.
  • Knowledge of Nuclear customers, industry programs and competitive environments.
  • Exhibit a strong Nuclear Safety Culture.
  • Knowledge of Nuclear welding and non-destructive examination processes
  • Experience in conducting quality inspections of equipment, components, or systems to ensure compliance with quality and regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain a customer focused team environment.
  • Demonstrated self-starter possessing strong initiative and teamwork skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills; proven ability to develop team relationships.
  • Experience interacting with senior leadership at supplier and/or regulatory organizations.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at once.
  • Demonstrated desire to be involved in a rapidly changing and challenging work environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Previous or Current Quality Lead Auditor certification.
  • 3 years of experience in Nuclear quality role.

The base pay range for this position is $121,900.00 – 171,900.00 CAD Annual.  The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for a 15% performance bonus/variable incentive compensation/equity.
