Job Description Summary

The Lead Document Control Specialist is responsible for leading and owning assigned areas of sufficient technical complexity, scale or duration, related to and in support of delivering documents across one or more, new commercial nuclear reactor projects for GE Vernova Hitachi Nuclear Energy (GVH). This role will serve as a focal for a project, a process, a system, a tool, or a combination thereof, in order to provide a common interface and to ensure requirements are known or established, understood, integrated, and communicated. This role will also support other assigned projects related to improvement efforts or digital transformation efforts.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Serve as focal for one or more assigned areas representing GVH Document Control
  • Support related work in coordination and consultation with subject matter experts
  • Interface with internal and external stakeholders to define requirements
  • Translate requirements internally into formally documented plans and procedures
  • Manage drafting, review, and approval of documents including comment resolution
  • Integrate requirements into new or existing processes, systems, tools and training
  • Ensure supporting resources are aware, understand and can execute related tasks
  • Support resolution of conditions adverse to quality or other related improvements
  • Perform and support related activities in the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system, Electronic Document Management Systems (EDMS), and other interfacing tools
  • Facilitate and lead meetings and knowledge sharing sessions for assigned areas
  • Own plans to ensure the required outcomes are achieved for assigned areas

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • 8 years of experience in Document Control, or equivalent experience in Records Management, Configuration Management, Technical Writing or Engineering

Eligibility Requirements

  • The preferred work location for this role is at the GVH Headquarters in Wilmington, NC; but highly qualified (US based) remote candidates will be considered.
  • This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Experience in the commercial nuclear engineering industry.
  • Familiarity with 10 CFR Part 810 and 10 CFR Part 50 Appendix B.
  • Excellent, professional written communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills; must work well in a team environment.
  • Strong organizational skills, project execution skills, and detail oriented.
  • Ability to manage time and work on one or more projects simultaneously.
  • Self-starter with a positive, can-do attitude. Energetic problem-solver capable of handling multiple tasks and priorities. Must be able to work independently, with limited supervision, and aligned with subject matter experts or responsible owners.
  • Experience leading others and assignment of work activities and related systems.
  • Experience with GE documentation systems, practices, and requirements.
  • Experience with documentation management protocols in a high-tech, regulated environment.
  • Familiarity with Documentum, Aconex, Enovia, Teamcenter, ELM and VNDLY.
  • Proficient with MS Products, Apps and Services; Smartsheet; Adobe software.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $98,400.00 and $164,000.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.

 

 

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
