Project Manager will manage the end-to-end outage lifecycle within the SQDC framework—from order receipt through project closeout—while ensuring operational excellence, customer satisfaction, and full compliance with contractual, legal, and company requirements.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring all customer deliverables are met in accordance with contract terms and conditions.
  • Develop detailed project plans, schedules, milestones, and work breakdown structures to support effective project planning, monitoring, and control.
  • Utilize SAP/PMx and other relevant tools for project planning, cost planning, monitoring, and reporting.
  • Lead day-to-day project execution to ensure progress against the approved baseline plan, coordinating with engineering, procurement, logistics, field execution, performance teams, vendors, consortium partners, and other external stakeholders.
  • Facilitate project meetings, status reviews, and decision-making sessions, ensuring all project activities comply with company standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Communicate project objectives, progress, risks, and issues clearly and proactively to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide regular project updates through reports, dashboards, presentations, and milestone reviews.
  • Identify, assess, and prioritize project risks and issues; develop and implement mitigation and contingency plans.
  • Maintain project risk registers, issue logs, change logs, and other key project control documents throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Evaluate change requests for impact on scope, schedule, budget, and resources, and ensure all changes are properly documented, communicated, approved, and implemented.
  • Ensure Code of Conduct as per GE standards, applicable legal and regulatory requirements, and Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) protocols.
  • Drive project KPIs, ensuring Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC), as well as margin objectives, are achieved.
  • Oversee revenue recognition, cash collections, and compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, consortium partners, and internal stakeholders to drive effective communication and successful project outcomes.
  • Lead structured project review rhythms, including bowler charts, milestone tracking, and performance reviews.
  • Capture and share lessons learned, best practices, and cost-of-poor-quality cases to support continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business from a recognized institution.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience managing complex power-sector projects.
  • Proven experience as a Project Manager or in a similar project leadership role.
  • Experience in core, retrofit, and upgrade projects within the power sector.
  • Mandatory experience in steam turbine upgrade projects.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies, tools, and best practices.
  • Demonstrated experience managing budgets, schedules, risks, and cross-functional teams.
  • Experience working with consortium partners and offshore entities is preferred.
  • Strong commitment to Health and Safety in challenging operational environments.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
