Job Description Summary

This position will create, implement, and manage work plans that safely ensure the production of high-quality products that meet compliance and project requirements for Schenectady Cores and Castings. Drive continuous improvement across the product lines by owning project timelines, improving cycle & cost, and resolving technical/process issues. Lead and effectively interface with manufacturing and other support teams to complete projects to meet EHS, production, quality, and cost savings goals within schedule and budget.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Management of the Post Cast production cell within the Schenectady Cores and Castings facility
  • Ability to meet defined targets in safety, quality, cost, and delivery.
  • Experience developing in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline. Uses prior experience and acquired technical expertise to execute strategy.
  • Uses In-depth understanding of key business drivers to accomplish own work.
  • Understands how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.
  • Utilizes judgment and can propose different solutions outside of set parameters but with guidance. Uses prior experience and on-the-job training to solve straightforward tasks.
  • Possesses the technical skills and analytic thinking required to solve problems. May use multiple internal sources outside of own team to arrive at decisions.
  • Ensure continuous business improvement according to benchmarks and standards.
  • Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience or technical acumen. Lead projects and resource requirements to improve cell performance.
  • Ability to discuss performance expectations and develop improvement plans. Ability to handle sensitive personnel issues.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 6 years of experience in related manufacturing environment and/or Job Family Group(s)/Function(s)).

  • Prior knowledge and experience with implementing Lean manufacturing principles.
  • Prior experience or knowledge of a technical discipline.

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Strong technical skills & aptitude.

  • Ability to plan communicate and execute.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $91,700.00 and $152,700.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.

 

 

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
