Job Description Summary

We are seeking a motivated Technical Leader who will oversee the design, development, and implementation of mechanical systems within wind turbine towers. This role requires deep mechanical engineering expertise, wind turbine technology/installation and service knowledge, and the ability to lead a team of engineers (from entry to senior engineers). The Technical Leader will drive innovation, ensure compliance with industry standards, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality yet simple mechanical solutions.

Job Description

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead the conceptualization, design, and prototyping of mechanical components and systems using engineering principles.
  • Utilize CAD software and other engineering tools to create detailed designs and simulations when needed.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and perform risk assessments for new designs.
  • Standardize analysis and calculation methodologies for towers mechanical components.
  • Implement and maintain quality assurance processes for mechanical systems.
  • Develop and oversea thorough testing and validation of designs to ensure reliability and performance.
  • Address and resolve any technical issues or defects identified during testing phases.
  • Work closely with other engineering disciplines (mainly electrical and structural) to ensure integrated solutions.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, suppliers, and regulatory bodies.
  • Present technical findings and recommendations to senior management and clients.
  • Ensure all designs and processes comply with relevant industry standards and regulations (e.g., IEC, ISO).
  • Ensure designs meet performance, safety, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in regulations and standards affecting wind turbine mechanical systems.
