Description de l'emploi
Job Description Summary
Assessment of the uncertainties of the measurements in the validation of a Wind Turbine design across the full Data Acquisition chain. In a second step, extend the assessment to the uncertainties related to simulation and test prediction in the design phase.Job Description
Evaluation of measurements uncertainties in WT validation
- One important part of a new product introduction process is to validate the product design. To do that, design engineers request to Validation team to carry out tests in Wind Turbine prototypes or fleet leaders. Then, Validation engineers are in charge of defining, planning, executing and reporting the test results. When reporting test results, comparison to expected values given by design engineers is done in order to verify or validate the models to identify risks. To do that, it is key to understand the uncertainties of measurements and expected values. In this role, you will have to deep dive into the assessment of measurement uncertainties. This should be guided by international standards such us ISO/IEC Guide 98-3 and IEC61400-13. As an example, Type A and Type B uncertainties should be analyzed conducting basic research, and applied research and development. The first step will be to standardize uncertainties assessment and reports for the different aspects related to Validation (loads, temperatures, deflections) and to identify opportunities to reduce the measurement uncertainties-.A second step on this role will be to work with design engineers to estimate uncertainties related to simulations or test predictions. We would like to estimate the uncertainties related to model inputs, extrapolations, model simplifications, model assumptions The main goal is to have a better understanding of the risks and cost out opportunities of our product designs when comparing measurement and simulations.
Roles and responsibilities:
- Perform statistical and uncertainty analysis on collected data.
- Check for best practices in measurement and validation within the industry and standards.
- Recognize and document all potential sources of measurement uncertainty.
- Develop and refine test protocols to ensure accurate and reliable measurements.
- Prepare comprehensive reports detailing findings, uncertainties, and recommendations.
- Communicate results to stakeholders through presentations and meetings.
- Seek ways to improve test methods and reduce measurement uncertainties.
