Job Description Summary
The Lead DevOps Engineer is responsible for driving the DevOps transformation for multiple GEV Grid Automation products and development/operations teams. This role focuses on infrastructure, cloud technologies, and Generative AI tools, collaborating across corporate teams and business-specific stakeholders to ensure seamless alignment with organizational objectives. The role also contributes to improving DevOps KPIs on code quality & security, test automation, coverage, traceability and CI/CD.Job Description
Scope:
The Lead DevOps Engineer is responsible for driving the DevOps transformation for multiple GEV Grid Automation products and development/operations teams. This role focuses on infrastructure, cloud technologies, and Generative AI tools, collaborating across corporate teams and business-specific stakeholders to ensure seamless alignment with organizational objectives. The role also contributes to improving DevOps KPIs on code quality & security, test automation, coverage, traceability and CI/CD.
Major Responsibilities:
· Drive DevOps best practices to optimize software development and deployment processes and update those best practices documentation.
· Design, deploy, and manage scalable Cloud infrastructure using AWS or Azure platforms.
· Contribute to the implementation and tracking of DevOps maturity to drive continuous improvement.
· Apply Agile process knowledge to enhance workflow management and team collaboration.
· Work closely with product teams to find the right trade-off between the business-specific needs and state-of-the-art CI/CD best practices.
· Provide solutions to increase visualization, reduce occurrences of errors and improve customer experience.
· Act as a mentor for the product teams and for DevOps junior peers.
· Evaluate technologies by Analysis of Alternatives and implement Proof of Concepts to quickly validate before implementation.
· Be proactive and spawn temporary working groups for specific topics.
· Collaborate with peers in all GEV Grid Automation businesses around the globe.
Basic Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field with minimum of 6+ years hands-on experience in DevOps and Cloud roles.
· Hands-on experience in scripting languages such as Shell, Bash, Terraform, Cloud Formation, or Python.
· Hands-on on monitoring Cloud resources like compute, memory
· Hands on experience in AWS or Azure Cloud platforms and K8s cluster
· Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
· Adaptability to new technologies and methodologies.
Desired:
· Certifications in relevant technologies or platforms.
· Experience in the Energy or Industrial IoT sectors.
