Job Description Summary

We are seeking an experienced Engineer to support the Heavy Duty (HD) Steam Turbine (ST) and Generator (GEN) Inquiry to Remittance (ITR) process within the Agile value stream of the Services business. This role serves as the primary Agile team focal point for standardized, small, and quick-turn opportunities and projects, ensuring customer needs are translated into technically sound, executable solutions. This role is ideal for an engineer with solid technical foundation and project lifecycle experience who is ready to own the full ITR scope – from customer inquiry through order fulfilment and outage execution, while developing expertise under the mentorship of senior technical leaders.

The successful candidate will execute technical analysis, manage customer interactions, coordinate across functional teams, and contribute to operational excellence initiatives. This role offers the opportunity to deepen technical mastery in ST/GEN systems while building the strategic and cross-functional skills needed for advancement.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Own assigned ITR opportunities and projects across the full lifecycle (inquiry, order, outage execution), managing technical analysis, scope definition, scheduling, and customization of products for specific customer requirements.
  • Act as primary point of contact for assigned opportunities with interfacing teams (commercial operations, sales, sourcing, material management, project management, design engineering) on ITR-related matters for the Agile Upgrades team.
  • Deliver technical execution with quality and timeliness, ensuring alignment with company best practices and customer expectations. Escalate/consult with experienced team members or Technical Leader on complex issues and drive them to closure.
  • Collaborate to balance team workload, support process execution, and identify opportunities for improvement. Work within a matrixed organization to integrate with Design Engineering, Materials Management, Sales, and Supply Chain.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying process gaps/inefficiencies and supporting the rollout of improvement initiatives within the ST/GEN Agile team, under guidance from senior team leadership.
  • Develop technical expertise in ST/GEN bill-of-materials (both GE Vernova and Legacy Alstom units), outage support, and supply chain collaboration through hands-on project work and mentorship.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college in Engineering (or equivalent high school diploma/GED with significant relevant technical experience).
  • Overall, 6-8 years work experience with 2-4 years of direct experience in Parts Engineering, Customer Application Engineering, or similar project lifecycle roles.
  • Solid technical background in or willingness to develop expertise in Steam Turbine and Generator systems, bill-of-materials, and outage support.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and coordinate across functional teams.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to convey technical information clearly to diverse audiences.

Desired Characteristics

  • Experience with Steam/Generator design engineering, ITO/OTR process, CM&U (Conversions, Modifications, and Uprates) process, or similar project management methodologies.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving ability: root cause analysis, issue resolution, and deviation management.
  • Familiarity with process improvement concepts (Lean, Six Sigma) or workflow automation.
  • Proactive mindset: comfort with ambiguity and willingness to learn from mentorship and feedback.
  • Customer focus and collaborative approach to cross-functional teamwork.
