Job Description Summary
The Lead Technical Sales Engineer is a key member of the sales organization, responsible for developing high-quality technical proposals for customer projects, primarily focused on Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and microgrids.In this role, you will design optimal technical and commercial solutions that meet customer requirements, with a strong emphasis on long-term customer satisfaction and project success.
During the onboarding phase, regular presence at our Berlin office will be required. Afterward, attendance in Berlin will be expected a few times per month.
Job Description
Your Responsibilities
Clarify customer requirements and assess technical, economic, and scheduling feasibility
Develop system concepts, perform system design, and prepare comprehensive technical proposals in collaboration with specialist departments
Identify, evaluate, and manage technical, commercial, and scheduling risks
Prepare and manage internal approval and decision-making processes
Conduct technical clarifications and negotiations with subcontractors and partners
Provide reliable technical support to customers throughout the entire sales cycle
Contribute to the ongoing development of product and system solutions and explore new customer applications and market opportunities
Your Profile
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
Several years of professional experience in utility-scale Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), renewable energy, and microgrids, with strong knowledge of customer use cases, industry standards, and regulations
Proven experience with EPC BESS and/or hybrid projects (e.g. solar + storage)
Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
Experience with simulation tools such as MATLAB and Simulink
Independent, structured, analytical, and proactive working style
Fluency in German and English, both written and spoken
Willingness to travel (max. 30%) and flexibility regarding regional business trips and project assignments
