Job Description Summary
As a key member of the Parts Value Stream team, you will be responsible for the distribution center operations for global fossil, industrial, and nuclear parts orders out of Atlanta, Georgia, while simultaneously orchestrating the integrated, non-capital parts inventory control for the Americas. You will lead a functional team of 3rd party contractors to drive safety, quality, on-time delivery, and cost metrics.In this dual-mandate role, you will own the Material Requirements Planning (MRP) activities and inventory strategy, ensuring inventory is managed against the demand pipeline. You will drive a services mindset, adopting lean tools and systemic improvements to ensure Steam Power remains the service provider of choice.

Key Responsibilities
Distribution Center Leadership & Operations
Operational Accountability: Lead the Atlanta distribution center operations with a relentless focus on Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC), ensuring compliant and efficient fulfillment while providing top-tier service to our global customers.
Team Leadership: Lead and coach a functional team of 3rd party contractors to form an empowered, customer-centric organization that meets or exceeds SQDC targets.
Performance Metrics: Accountable to meet distribution center KPIs including safety, quality and inventory accuracy, while supporting fleet-wide On-Time Delivery (OTD).
Lean & Continuous Improvement: Drive the application of lean tools (e.g., 5S, VSM) and partner with the Operational Excellence team to drive systemic warehouse improvements.
Stakeholder Management: Lead and coach constructive, transparent, and solution-oriented issue resolution with internal customers, suppliers, and logistics partners.
Inventory Control & MRP Strategy
Global MRP & Planning Execution: Execute and manage Material Requirements Planning (MRP) activities for non-capital parts. Own and develop consistent application of planning policies, parameters, and best practices across the regional plants.
Operating Rhythm: Own and run the Operating Rhythm and Daily Management (DM) for the Americas inventory, defining and maintaining critical KPI/PPI metrics.
Inventory Optimization: Define, maintain, and execute Procure-to-Stock (PTS) strategies. Monitor inventory health metrics, specifically targeting the reduction of Excess and Obsolete (E&O) inventory.
Master Data & System Management: Maintain Material Master data across regional plants, including planning parameters, lot sizes, lead times, safety stock, and procurement settings. Execute material extensions and maintain order allocation tables to support accurate global reporting.
Inventory Accuracy & Governance: Secure the execution of inventory cycle counts per GEV standards. Ensure data integrity and compliance with internal controls, policies, and audit requirements.
Financial Coordination: Manage inventory transactions including identification, documentation, and system postings in close coordination with Finance and Operations.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Minimum of 5 years of experience in Supply Chain Management, Parts, or a comparable Operations role.
Hands-on experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred)
Deep knowledge of warehouse-related processes.
Ability to work onsite in Atlanta 40-60% of the time.
Desired Characteristics
Strategic Leadership: Proven track record of managing wing-to-wing supply chain operations and driving continuous improvements.
Analytical Rigor: Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and drive corrective actions for inventory health.
Change Management: Experience initiating and leading problem-solving using lean concepts and influential management.
Communication: Excellent negotiation and communication skills with a transparent, solution-oriented approach.
Professional Certification: APICS/CPIM certification or similar supply chain certification is preferred.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $104,200.00 and $173,700.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.
Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
