Job Description Summary
Responsible for being the OCIO and Critical Initiatives leader across Aero & Controls IT. Accountable for financial management, vendor relationships, AAJV relationship, AMS activities, critical initiatives and operations. This will include operational activities across business functions and extended teams. Positively impacts the team's ability to achieve service, quality, and timeliness of objectives. High levels of operational judgment are required to achieve outcomes required. Provides ongoing process, feature and solution guidance, input, and direction to product and platform teams.Responsible for supporting and maintaining critical applications and related data processing platforms and services. Responsible for ensuring the team has the tools, resources, and skills they need to deliver on commitments while tracking ongoing execution and delivery of Application Operations delivery SLAs.
Job Description
The Aero & Controls OCIO Leader is accountable for delivering functional, business, and enterprise-wide IT objectives. This role is responsible for driving strategic initiatives, operational excellence, and cross-functional alignment across the Aero & Controls IT organization.
The successful candidate will lead multiple interdependent teams and programs, ensure strong operational execution, and serve as a key partner to business and technology leadership in advancing transformation, simplification, and business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Business Partnership
- Provide IT leadership and ownership for critical initiatives and enterprise programs across Aero & Controls.
- Drive execution across multiple functions to deliver measurable business outcomes.
- Partner closely with CTO, CISO, and business leadership to advance strategic initiatives, technology priorities, and process improvements.
- Contribute to long-term planning and help shape the technology strategy in alignment with business goals.
- Apply technical expertise and business insight to develop and integrate processes that meet organizational needs across functions.
- Define and drive the vision for scope management and enterprise-wide standards.
- Identify opportunities for business process simplification, synergy, and transformation.
- Act as a catalyst for change by identifying gaps, challenging outdated practices, and implementing modern solutions.
Transformation & Modernization
- Ensure value realization from strategic partnerships by enabling transformation of core run processes.
- Lead modernization initiatives including application consolidation, rationalization, and simplification.
- Identify deficiencies in critical processes and replace them with contemporary technology solutions such as AI, data science, automation, cloud, DevOps, analytics, and related digital capabilities.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and industry trends to recommend scalable, future-ready solutions.
Operational Excellence
- Establish strong operating mechanisms and management rhythms to ensure delivery of business objectives and operational targets.
- Build and sustain daily management practices, standard work, operating procedures, policies, and service level agreements.
- Drive organizational strategies, operational processes, and governance frameworks in alignment with business objectives.
- Ensure effective compliance with organizational policies, standards, and controls through process development, simplification, and oversight.
- Lead operational reporting, stakeholder communications, performance reviews, and corrective action planning.
- Use disciplined management approaches and dashboards to monitor program velocity, burn-up, defect trends, quality, and compliance.
Incident & Service Leadership
- Serve as a central escalation point for highly critical or high-impact application outages and incidents.
- Lead and resolve P0/P1 incidents with urgency, strong judgment, and customer focus.
- Ensure service delivery expectations are met and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction through defined performance metrics.
Financial, Vendor & Program Management
- Lead financial pacing, annual budgeting cycles, and cost management across the Aero & Controls IT organization.
- Drive vendor management strategy, including sourcing optimization and cost deflation opportunities.
- Manage IT vendors and coordinate with global teams on standards, initiatives, escalations, and service performance.
- Lead IT engagements related to mergers, acquisitions, and integration efforts.
- Develop and manage comprehensive project and program plans, including risk mitigation, issue resolution, and execution governance.
- Coordinate effectively with program, support, architecture, implementation, and third-party teams to ensure successful delivery.
Leadership & Capability Building
- Provide leadership, coaching, and mentoring to IT program managers, business partners, and vendors to build a sustainable and effective operating model.
- Identify organizational strengths, capability gaps, and development needs, and establish plans to address them.
- Foster a continuous learning culture by leveraging domain expertise to improve team knowledge and productivity.
- Collaborate with organizational leadership on vision, quality strategy, technology platforms and services, and workforce/resource planning.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of technical experience with demonstrated leadership across IT programs, products, and cross-functional teams.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience partnering with CTO/CISO organizations, leading vendor management and cost optimization, managing IT budgets, supporting M&A engagements, resolving critical incidents, and driving process improvement through modern technologies such as AI and data science.

Technical & Domain Expertise
- Strong understanding of enterprise technical architecture, including web applications and cloud computing.
- Broad experience across IT operations, applications, client services, networks, and data centers.
- Familiarity with modern technology frameworks and capabilities such as AI, cloud, robotic process automation, DevOps, and analytics.
- Experience with Agile program management methodologies.

- Proven ability to lead teams, influence stakeholders, and drive outcomes in complex, matrixed environments.

Preferred Certifications
- Project management certifications such as Agile, SAFe, or PMP.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $137,700.00 and $229,600.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.
Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
