L'ingénierie des systèmes est une discipline d'ingénierie interfonctionnelle axée sur une approche, un état d'esprit et un processus. Toutes les activités qui tiennent compte des besoins à la fois commerciaux et techniques des clients dans le but de fournir un produit de qualité qui réponde aux besoins des utilisateurs. Discipline qui exécute un processus robuste de conception, de création et d’optimisation de systèmes, comprenant l’identification et la quantification des exigences système, la création de concepts de conception de système alternatifs, la réalisation d’études commerciales de conception, la sélection et la mise en œuvre des meilleures conceptions et la vérification que la conception est correctement intégrée et exécutée. Processus allant du concept à l'exploitation en passant par la production.Responsable de la planification et/ou de l'exécution des opérations du département ou axé sur l'exécution d'activités professionnelles au sein d'une discipline technique. Fonctions dotées d'une certaine autonomie, mais guidées par les politiques établies ou l'analyse des résultats finaux.
Ce poste est autorisé à modifier les procédures et les pratiques en relation avec les tâches dans la mesure où les résultats finaux répondent aux normes d'acceptabilité (qualité, volume, respect des délais, etc.).

Role
The Secondary Design Engineer HVDC is responsible for the design and engineering of HV substation control and protection systems, auxiliary system control and protection, including MV/LV auxiliary equipment, and other low-voltage (LV) engineering aspectsof Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) substation projects in the Power System industry sector. This position will work closely with other designers, engineers, and the project managers to ensure compliance with contractual specifications, project schedules, and budget constraints.
Key Missions
The Secondary Design Engineer HVDC will have the following key missions:
- Define all equipment and documents necessary to meet customer needs, including Cubicles for Control & Protection and cubicles for Auxiliary Services,MV/LV equipment, MV/LV cables, battery cells, and chargers.
- Establish basic design, and then detailed drawings in compliance with contractual specifications during the Basic Design/Principle phase, using CAD tools in line with company processes. Knowledge of the Engineering Base tool would be an added advantage.
- Establish technical specifications for MV/LV equipment supplied by internal partners and external suppliers.
- Analyse technical proposals received and participate in technical clarifications with equipment suppliers by supporting the Sourcing department.
- Establish Bill of Quantities for MV/LV equipment and C&P Cubicles(Request for Procurement) and technical specifications for necessary erection tools.
- Participate in factory acceptance tests and reception of HV substation control and protection systems, auxiliary system control and protection, including MV/LV auxiliary equipment in compliance with contractual technical specifications and project time schedules
Performance Measurements
The performance of the Secondary Design Engineer HVDC will be measured based on:
- Quality of design and accuracy of technical specifications
- Efficient management of detailed design using CAD tools i.e. Engineering Base
- Compliance with contractual specifications, project schedules, and budget constraints
- Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with team members
- Ability to analyse technical proposals and make informed decisions
Desired Profile
The ideal candidate for the Secondary Design Engineer HVDC position should possess the following qualifications and competencies:
- Graduate from Electrical or Electro-technical school
- Knowledge of HV substation control and protection systems, auxiliary system control and protection, including MV/LV auxiliary equipment
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team
- Fluent in English, reading / writing.
- Ability to compare materials to identify deviations from contractual specs and standards
- Ability to design schematics and cable synoptic using principle diagrams
- Knowledge of different telecom interfaces for each technology
- Knowledge of basic electro technique rules, apparent power, and power factors
- Pro-active, problem-solving mindset and good team player
- Relevant IT knowledge and experience with secondary design realizations tools
Experience
- relevant experience in High Voltage (HV) Transmission Substation activities, including knowledge of electrical installations, control and protection systems, turnkey projects development, and interfaces.
- Skills in Low Voltage (LV) installation, Digital and Conventional Control Systems, and be familiar with international standards.
- experience in designing schematics and cable synoptic using principle diagrams, and knowledge
