Job Description Summary
Are you ready to elevate your career in renewable energy? Bodangora Wind Farm, located near the picturesque town of Dubbo in NSW, is seeking a dedicated (Electrical/Mechanical Technician) to join our team. With 33 GE 3.43-130 wind turbines generating enough power for approximately 49,000 homes annually, your role will be pivotal in sustaining this clean energy initiative.You’ll be working at the forefront of renewable energy, maintaining and troubleshooting wind turbines at some of the most exciting and innovative sites in the country. No two days are the same, you’ll be climbing turbines, solving real-world technical challenges, and helping to keep Australia’s wind power turning. Wind Turbine specific training will be provided to the successful applicants.
This is not a FIFO or DIDO role, must be based locally to the wind farm
Job Description
Essential Responsibilities:
Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on turbines and site infrastructure
Follow GE manuals, specifications, and work instructions to perform assigned tasks and inspections
Conduct maintenance, fault finding, and high voltage switching operations as required
Participate in annual maintenance, retrofit works, major component exchanges, and fault finding
Use GE software tools to maintain reports and submit technical queries
Ensure compliance with JSA, LOTO, EHS policies, and report issues promptly
Make a conformance or non-conformance decision upon completion of inspections
Report errors, violations, incidents, or problems immediately using GE reporting systems
Embrace a 37.5-hour work week, with opportunities for overtime as approved and participate in on-call rosters for after-hours or weekend work as directed
Qualifications, Requirements & Competencies:
Qualified Electrician
Proficient in fault finding (electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic equipment)
Proficient in using computer systems and tools for monitoring work and managing documentation
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
A current unrestricted driver's license
Ability to complete physically demanding tasks at heights, comfortable with heights (you’ll be climbing turbines, so you’ve got to have a head for heights and a love for fresh air!)
A commitment to the highest safety standards, high performance, continuous improvement and delivering the right solutions
Independent, solutions-focused, and well-organized in managing tasks
Open to travel to other sites as required
Must hold appropriate working rights for Australia at the time of your application
Desired Characteristics:
Previous experience in renewables, power distribution, mining, oil & gas or other heavy industry (preferred but not essential).
GWO Basic Training (preferred but not essential, training will be provided).
High Voltage Switching Operations (preferred but not essential, training may be provided).
HRWL including Dogging, Rigging (Advanced), Forklift, EWP (not essential, training may be provided).
