Job Description Summary
Are you ready to elevate your career in renewable energy? Crookwell Wind Farm, approximately 90 minutes north of Canberra. The 91MW wind farm is able to produce up to 320-GWh of renewable energy annually for homes in Canberra from 28 GE 3.4MW turbines, contributing to the capital’s 100% renewable energy target. As one of the early pioneers in Australia’s wind energy sector, Crookwell plays an important role in the country’s sustainable energy future.You’ll be working at the forefront of renewable energy, maintaining and troubleshooting wind turbines at some of the most exciting and innovative sites in the country. No two days are the same, you’ll be climbing turbines, solving real-world technical challenges, and helping to keep Australia’s wind power turning.
Job Description
Essential Responsibilities
Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on turbines and site infrastructure
Follow GE manuals, specifications, and work instructions to perform assigned tasks and inspections
Conduct maintenance, fault finding, and high voltage switching operations as required
Participate in annual maintenance, retrofit works, major component exchanges, and fault finding
Use GE software tools to maintain reports and submit technical queries
Ensure compliance with JSA, LOTO, EHS policies, and report issues promptly
Make a conformance or non-conformance decision upon completion of inspections
Report errors, violations, incidents, or problems immediately using GE reporting systems
Embrace a 37.5-hour work week, with opportunities for overtime as approved and participate in on-call rosters for after-hours or weekend work as directed
Qualifications, Requirements & Competencies
Qualified Electrician or a qualified Mechanic/Mechanical Fitter with electrical aptitude
Proficient in fault finding (electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic equipment)
Proficient in using computer systems and tools for monitoring work and managing documentation
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
A current unrestricted driver's license
Ability to complete physically demanding tasks at heights, comfortable with heights (you’ll be climbing turbines, so you’ve got to have a head for heights and a love for fresh air!)
A commitment to the highest safety standards, high performance, continuous improvement and delivering the right solutions
Independent, solutions-focused, and well-organized in managing tasks
Open to travel to other sites as required
