Job Description Summary

The Procurement Specialist is responsible for managing direct and indirect procurement activities in support of shop operations, including equipment, tools, services, and direct materials. This role ensures procurement policy compliance, supports supplier management and PO execution, and helps establish efficient procurement processes for the operation.
In the initial setup phase, the position will also support material management activities related to ERP transactions, logistics coordination, and material flow.
This role reports to the Site Materials & Logistics Manager and is intended to be performed on-site.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Manage direct and indirect procurement activities to support shop operations and business needs.

  • Place and follow up on purchase orders, ensuring timely execution and delivery.

  • Ensure full compliance with procurement policies, procedures, and approval requirements.

  • Manage supplier relationships for PO execution, delivery scheduling, issue resolution, and ERP updates.

  • Support negotiation with suppliers to achieve the best commercial and contractual conditions while meeting business requirements.

  • Work with internal stakeholders to align procurement activities with technical specifications, budgets, and project timelines.

  • Support the setup and standardization of procurement processes for the new repair shop operation.

  • Provide guidance to functional teams on procurement processes, policies, and procurement-related topics.

  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to support smooth operational startup and new technology introduction.

  • Build effective working relationships with suppliers and internal teams to ensure continuity, compliance, and operational readiness.

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in procurement.

  • Strong knowledge of Oracle ERP.

  • Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Ability to lead initiatives and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to work across functions.

  • Fluency in English and Italian, both written and spoken.

Desired Characteristics

  • Experience in aviation, oil and gas, or a comparable industrial repair environment.

  • Familiarity with repair shop operations, material transactions, and logistics processes.

  • Ability to work effectively in a setup or startup environment.

  • Practical, proactive, and solution-oriented mindset.

  • Energy, ownership, and willingness to drive change and improve processes.
