Job Description Summary
Become part of a winning team and help to deliver the Green Energy transition in GE Vernova Hydro Power.Based in our office in Budapest, Hungary, the Supplier Quality Inspector for welded and machined components will ensure robust quality performance across assigned EU suppliers. The role will entail close alignment with Sourcing, Engineering and Quality functions, as well as with other key stakeholders, and will focus on inspection activities from order to delivery.
You will manage supplier non-conformances (SDR/NCR), drive root cause analysis and corrective actions, and support continuous improvement directly at supplier sites. You’ll manage dynamic priorities with minimal guidance and rely on strong, proactive communication with internal stakeholders, senior leadership, and suppliers.
Job Description
Role & Responsibilities:
Manage supplier inspection activities for welded and machined parts
Review and interpret engineering drawings, WPS/PQRs, and ensure inspections follow design and quality requirements
Prepare and maintain inspection reports, test records, and quality documentation
Coordinate with internal teams (Sourcing, Engineering, Quality Assurance) and act as main contact at supplier site
Drive continuous improvement in supplier quality, delivery, and performance
Investigate non-conformances, conduct root cause analysis, and support corrective actions
Ensure compliance with standards (ISO, ASME) and support NDT validation activities
Required Qualifications:
Education: University degree in Mechanical / Civil / Welding Engineering or equivalent experience/knowledge with a Technical Diploma
Experience: Proven experience in fabrication and welding inspection, with strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and Non-Destructive Testing, including Ultrasonic Testing, Magnetic Particle Testing, Penetrant Testing, and Visual Testing.
Language Skills: Fluent in English (spoken and written).
Valid driver's license (category B) with driving experience
Professional Skills: Ability to read and interpret technical drawings; proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
Personal Attributes: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; excellent communication and teamwork abilities; proactive, quality-focused mindset.
Traveling: Willingness to travel approximately 30–40%, primarily to visit suppliers across Europe.
