Job Description Summary
The Production Cell Leader will serve as the key operational leader for a manufacturing cell within our Gas Power Schenectady facility. This is a core manufacturing leadership role responsible for delivering power generation equipment to a global customer base while driving performance across safety, quality, delivery, and cost.In this role, the successful candidate will lead a team of salaried direct reports, production supervisors, and hourly assembly technicians to execute business commitments and achieve operational objectives. Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Lead a manufacturing cell or portion of a production facility to achieve defined targets in safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
- Manage a team of salaried employees, including production supervisors, as well as hourly production and assembly personnel.
- Develop and communicate a cell operating strategy that cost-effectively meets or exceeds business and customer commitments.
- Drive daily execution of the production plan and support development of the master production schedule, including use of SAP scheduling tools as applicable.
- Ensure on-time execution of customer commitments while meeting operational targets and compliance requirements.
- Create an environment of respect, trust, accountability, and open communication that supports engagement, problem solving, and team effectiveness.
- Partner closely with engineering, sourcing, materials, quality, logistics, and project teams to ensure efficient production flow and successful delivery of product.
- Lead continuous improvement efforts across the cell, including staffing optimization, communication rhythms, assembly process development, standard work, and line performance improvements.
- Drive operational excellence using lean manufacturing principles and structured problem-solving methods to improve safety, quality, productivity, and throughput.
- Make sound decisions and resolve complex operational, manufacturing, technical, and personnel issues using data, experience, and cross-functional input.
- Assess the quality of information provided, ask the right questions, and develop practical recommendations and solutions both within and outside established parameters.
- Help influence functional strategy for the area of responsibility, including resource planning, performance management, and operational priorities.
- Lead or support projects and initiatives that improve business performance, readiness, and execution across the production organization.
- Maintain high standards for compliance, process discipline, and operational consistency across the cell.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college OR high school diploma / GED with significant relevant manufacturing leadership experience.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a people leadership role within a heavy industrial manufacturing environment.

Relocation Assistance Provided: Yes
For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $122,600.00 and $204,400.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.
Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
