Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
·Responsible for developing commercial proposals, contract negotiation and managing commercial risk to secure profitable business for the Power Conversion & Storage business.
·Lead contract negotiations and customer meetings including the legal aspects of the contract i.e. limitation of liability, insurance, indemnities, liquidated damages, etc.., and bring the deal for closure/contract signature.
·Understand and have the ability to create project cash flows based on the project profile, exchange rates fluctuations (USD, EUR, BRL, CAD etc), and cost escalation models. Become proficient with use of financial, cost/pricing and technical tools associated with above responsibilities.
·Development of commercial proposals for low, medium and complex RFQ/RFI/RFP, working cross-functionally with Sales, Legal, Finance, Engineering and Sourcing aligning customers’ expectations against the company’s profitability and risk profiles.
·Ensure compliance with the commercial risk process for all transactions and lead the technical, profitability and commercial inputs during presentations at risk meetings
·Communicates difficult concepts and may influence others' opinions on particular topics by guiding others to consider a different point of view.
·Interfaces with other GE Vernova businesses and works globally to increase our penetration in the markets.
·Uses high level of judgment to make decisions and handle complex tasks or problems within projects, markets, sales processes, or customers. Has ability to assess quality of information given and ask pertinent questions to stakeholders or customers.
·Able to offer new solutions to problems outside of set parameters and is able to construct and provide recommendations. Uses multiple internal and some external sources outside of own function to help arrive at a decision.
·Works with regional commercial and risk teams to identify opportunities for simplification and productivity.
·Provide subject matter expert guidance to Services/Fleet Managers.
·Manage ITO Risk scenario analysis on assigned deals.
Required Qualifications
·Bachelor’s degree in electrical or electronic engineering
·Minimum of 5 years of experience in Commercial operations, Sales, Business and/or Contract Law or equivalent experience associated with gas / steam turbine / power plant, wind power, variable frequency drives, electric motors, or grid products
·Minimum of 5 years of experience with reviewing customer specifications, proposal development, contract development and direct negotiations for equipment and/ or services sales and consortium agreements
·Ability and willingness to travel 50% of the time.
Desired Characteristics
1.Direct experience with commercial offering on large complex systems in the Industrial segment with preference for experience with Power Conversion & Storage business solutions or similar.
2.Strong track record of working with cross-functional teams
3.Technical knowledge of electrical solutions, including automation, low & medium-voltage motors, and variable speed drives.
4.Bachelor's degree in electrical or electronic Engineering is preferred
5.Experience negotiating Long Terms Service Agreements (LTSA, MSA).
6.Prior technical sales and contract negotiation experience.
7.Strong project time management skills
8.Customer-focused mindset with proven ability to respond quickly to customer needs
9.Strong coordination and influencing skills
10.Knowledge of customer financial drivers / needs
11.Ability to utilize analytical software and sales tools (CRM, Excel, Word, etc.) with extensive experience using salesforce.com
12.Ability to multi-task on a variety of projects to strict time scales.
13.Strong oral and written communication skills
14.Commercial risk management expertise and knowledge of Policy 5.0 or similar
15.Extensive knowledge of Rotating Machines and Power Electronics PCS portfolio offerings.
16.Graduate of GE Commercial leadership program
