Job Description Summary
In the current process of business grow, facing projects with edge technology Offshore Wind Platform (Haliade X) - the Commissioning Technical Support Engineer will play an important role in the successful execution of projects. He/she will act as key person for the technical aspects of the commissioning project, with an overall view from the supplier manufacturing until the offshore operations. Main activities starting with a validation of assets reception from supply chain, assuring an issues de-risking, technical preparation for onshore and offshore commissioning, aligning with design teams and project operations teams to release a fully validated commissioning test plan and finally achieving technical and EHS excellence on both site/remote support to project and site teams until the project closure. Quality & Customer Satisfaction will be the main goals.Job Description
Job Purpose:
The role involves providing technical leadership and expertise for the operation phases of Offshore Wind Turbine projects both commissioning and service. This includes oversight from supplier manufacturing through various commissioning stages.
Significant Activities:
- Collaborate with design and operations teams to develop commissioning test plans.
- Validate systems upon asset receipt to mitigate technical risks.
- Prepare commissioning protocols and support documentation creation for Haliade commissioning.
- Assist back office purchasing team with tooling and spares lists.
- Provide onsite and remote technical support, manage defects, and ensure commissioning timelines.
- Lead technical and operational improvements with engineering or suppliers using Non Conformities.
- Drive process improvements focusing on digitalization, data analytics, and EHS compliance.
- Analyze data for continuous improvement in operational safety and quality.
- Communicate recommendations through technical material presentations.
- Support cost sheet preparation and improve offers based on technical analysis.
- Uphold quality standards and documentation adherence.
- Represent the organization to promote Safety, Quality, and Compliance.
Nature and Scope of Responsibilities:
- Ensure adherence to test plans and safety rules.
- Autonomy in Wind Farm commissioning technical support activities.
- Lead improvement initiatives and workshops.
- Share best practices globally.
- Participate in tender quotation processes.
Working Relationships:
Reports to Commissioning Technical Support Leader; supports Project execution teams, both supervisors and technician working locally in turbines or remotely in Remote Operation Center. Interfaces with Installation and MechElec teams to uphold safety best practices and with Engineering for issues resolution and product improvements Manages partnerships for technical guidance and alignment.
Professional Skills Required:
- 5 years of Offshore Wind Farm experience.
- Degree or Diploma in Electrical, Mechatronics, or Industrial Engineering.
- Proven track record in wind turbine technical support and team leadership.
- Experience with controls systems, PLCs and software update procedures.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility, motivation, and ability to work under pressure.
- Experience with quality tools and systems.
- Strong communication skills and goal-driven.
- Understanding of English language for global procedures.
- Willing to travel in between 15-25% of the time.
Pre-requisite EHS:
- Strong safety culture and ability to uphold GE EHS requirements.
- Knowledge of HV EHS safety systems.
