Job Description Summary
The US Projects Sourcing Leader will be responsible for building, leading, and scaling the project procurement capability supporting advanced nuclear power plant projects in the United States. This role will initially establish the operating model, sourcing approach, governance, and cross-functional execution rhythms needed to support successful project delivery and program growth. Over time, the role is expected to evolve into a broader leadership position with responsibility for aligning procurement execution across a portfolio of U.S. SMR projects. This leader will oversee procurement across a broad range of project scopes, including major equipment, fabricated and machined components, engineered systems, construction-related supply and services, and other critical materials and services required for nuclear plant delivery in the U.S. market. The role requires the ability to consolidate full project procurement requirements into one cohesive approach that supports schedule performance, controls cost, mitigates risk, and delivers the best total cost for the customer.
Success in this role will require strong execution discipline, commercial acumen, supplier leadership, and the ability to operate effectively in a complex matrix organization. The ideal candidate will be equally comfortable driving day-to-day project outcomes, resolving escalations, leading cross-functional teams without direct authority, and building the procurement foundation needed to support long-term U.S. program growth.
Job Description
What You’ll Do
- Lead procurement execution across multiple U.S. SMR projects simultaneously, ensuring supplier performance, purchasing milestones, and delivery commitments are achieved in support of project schedules and customer obligations.
- Own supplier cost, schedule, and execution performance across key project procurement scopes, including major equipment, fabricated and machined components, engineered systems, and construction-related supply and services supporting U.S. nuclear plant projects.
- Build and implement a cohesive project procurement approach that brings together full project purchasing requirements into an integrated execution model that improves coordination, drives consistency, and supports best total cost for the customer.
- Partner closely with project managers, engineering, construction, quality, legal, finance, operations, and sourcing teams to align procurement activities with project priorities, technical requirements, execution milestones, and U.S. project delivery needs.
- Drive procurement planning, supplier engagement, purchase order execution, and issue resolution to ensure critical materials, equipment, and services are delivered on time, within scope, and in alignment with contractual commitments.
- Serve as the senior escalation point for supplier, supply chain, commercial, and delivery issues, leading rapid cross-functional problem solving to minimize disruption to U.S. project execution.
- Develop and manage key performance indicators, operating rhythms, and action plans that improve daily management rigor, increase visibility to execution risks, and strengthen cost, quality, and on-time delivery performance.
- Work directly with project teams, commodity leaders, and fulfillment leaders to capture real-time supplier and execution data and use those insights to improve decisions, resolve gaps, and strengthen overall procurement performance.
- Lead supplier negotiations and commercial alignment for critical project needs, including contract terms, delivery commitments, capacity considerations, localization opportunities, and other actions required to secure reliable execution and strong customer outcomes in the U.S. market.
- Identify and mitigate project procurement risks through structured risk management, contingency planning, lessons learned, and proactive engagement with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Establish standard work, governance processes, and team practices that enable repeatable execution, stronger cross-project coordination, and long-term scalability of the U.S. SMR project procurement function.
- Lead effectively within a matrix organization by influencing stakeholders across functions, regions, and projects, building alignment where direct reporting authority does not exist, and driving accountability to project and business outcomes.
What You’ll Bring
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, supply chain, or project purchasing leadership within complex industrial, energy, EPC, power generation, nuclear, or similarly regulated project environments.
- Demonstrated success managing procurement execution for large, complex projects involving major engineered equipment, fabrication, machining, construction scope, or other critical industrial supply categories.
- Strong commercial capability, including at least 5 or more years of experience negotiating contracts, commercial terms, supplier commitments, and execution-related agreements.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment.
- Strong analytical and operational problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data to drive decisions, identify risks, and improve execution.
- Executive-level communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage effectively with internal leadership, customers, suppliers, and project partners.
- Demonstrated ability to lead in a matrix organization and influence cross-functional teams without direct authority.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience establishing operating mechanisms, performance management tools, standard work, and scalable processes in support of execution excellence.
- Strong understanding of sourcing and supplier execution considerations relevant to the U.S. market, including domestic supply base strategy, localization requirements, regulatory expectations, and project delivery considerations.
