Disaster Recovery & Business Crisis Impact Leader
DIn this group rotation three DTDPs were responsible for a big project, addressing the biggest cyber risk today: ransomware; by using a risk-based approach. Leading the initiative to help application owners of the 20+ most critical applications to create a resilient environment to build disaster recovery plans while ensuring these plans are aligned with the business expectations by creating business impact analysis. This enables application owners to test disaster recovery plans and report outcomes for audit purposes. Our activities included regular updates towards CIOs; working together with a network of 80+ people; process engineering; application architecture analysis etc.
Optimization & Machine Learning
GE in-house tool APOW (Automated Process and Optimization Workbench) is used across all GE businesses. It is used by design teams to develop workflows which enable them to create standard work for their calculation process to ensure knowledge capturing and reduce/eliminate human errors. APOW links these workflows to mathematical functions to execute Design of Experiments (DoE), Optimization and Uncertainty Quantification (UQ). In this project we want to extend the mathematical modelling capabilities of APOW, by implementing the latest Optimization and ML methodologies being currently developed by our academic partners. As a DTDP we work on technical tasks, like reviewing and integrating Optimization methodologies, advance in ML applied to engineering applications and have the opportunity to practice, lead project management and planning in the team.
Rotation examples
DTDP Rotation Example 1: Salesforce Solutions Engineer
Erica D.
As a part of my first rotation in the DTDP program, I’m developing foundational skills as a Salesforce Solutions Engineer. This rotation allows me to dive into Salesforce Platform DevOps, where I’m learning Salesforce administration and development. I contribute to resolving tickets and addressing issues reported by business teams while delivering user stories within Agile sprints. I’m also gaining insight into the Business Process, learning the end-to-end workflow from Sales (Lead generation) to Customer Success (Ticket creation) and understanding how Salesforce integrates with tools like Gainsight, CPQ, and Fusion ERP. This exposure is helping me connect technical implementations with business objectives. A key part of this rotation is the chance to develop DevOps Skills. I’m being introduced to Agile methodologies and am on track to pursue Salesforce Administrator and Flosum certifications. Overall, this rotation is helping me develop both technical expertise and leadership skills through hands-on learning and exposure to the commercial ecosystem, allowing me to grow as both a technical contributor and leader.
DTDP Rotation Example 2: Program Manager for Outage Management Product
Portfolio
Simran D.
This role provides me with valuable exposure to the service side of the business, which is the primary revenue generator. During this rotation, I will gain insights into how various products integrate to serve the Outage space and understand their lifecycle. Additionally, I will delve into product management by taking ownership of several features and overseeing their end-to-end delivery. Furthermore, I will support the AMS transition, engage with our partnership initiatives, develop a leadership dashboard, and enhance transparent communication while implementing standard work practices.
My experiences from this rotation will enhance my business acumen while allowing me to actively engage in product management roles and responsibilities. Additionally, this rotation will improve my communication skills and my ability to deliver strategic business insights.
