Job Description Summary

As an Electronic Test Technician you will assemble, wire, and test instrumentation and control (I&C) equipment that supports the GE Vernova Hitachi Nuclear Energy (GVH) engineering and system development efforts. You’ll build and integrate components such as sensors, transmitters, and control panels; perform bench-level and functional testing; and assist with prototype evaluations and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble and build I&C system components, panels, and assemblies per engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and work instructions.
  • Perform bench-level testing of sensors, transmitters, controllers, and signal conditioning equipment.
  • Support system integration by wiring, configuring, and verifying I&C connections and test setups.
  • Assist with prototype builds, hardware troubleshooting, and calibration activities.
  • Execute calibration and verification procedures using standard lab equipment.
  • Document build and test results, including assembly records, data, and nonconformance reports.
  • Maintain lab organization, tool control, and a safe working environment.
  • Support functional and environmental testing such as continuity, insulation resistance, and signal verification.
  • Follow all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) standards and lab protocols.
  • Collaborate with engineers and technicians to identify and resolve design or test issues.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by updating procedures and work instructions.
  • Prepare instrumentation and test setups for system-level or field testing as required.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree / technical certification or military training/experience in Electronics, Instrumentation, Electrical Technology, or a related field (preferred)
  • OR High school diploma/GED required; and 2 years of relevant experience in electrical/electronics assembly or testing.
  • Minimum of 2 years of reading and interpreting schematics, wiring diagrams, parts lists, and ladder logic.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with basic hand tools, soldering equipment, Wire Crimping/preparation, electrical and electronics test equipment.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing industrial, electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and electro-mechanical control equipment.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience using a variety of test equipment such as Simpson meter, amp probe, oscilloscope, signal generators, programmable power supplies and multimeters.

  • This role requires working onsite at the GVH Headquarters in Wilmington, NC 
  • This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills at the component and wiring level.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to follow detailed work instructions.
  • Works well both independently and in a team environment.
  • Eager to learn new tools, processes, and technologies related to instrumentation and controls.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $71,600.00 and $107,400.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.

 

 

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
