Job Description

Job Description Summary

The Delivery Manager for Reliance EMS holds end-to-end responsibility for the software delivery lifecycle of Energy Management System projects. This role ensures the successful deployment of grid-critical EMS solutions, focusing on technical execution, system stability, and seamless integration into the customer's control room environment.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • The Mission: At GE Vernova, we don’t just build software; we build the intelligence that powers the global energy transition. We are looking for a seasoned technical leader to own the delivery of our most critical EMS implementations. You will be the architect of the project lifecycle, bridging the gap between cutting-edge R&D and the mission-critical needs of grid operators. If you are passionate about grid stability, complex systems integration, and the future of renewable energy orchestration, we want to talk to you.
    Why This Role Matters:
    • High Impact: You will manage end-to-end delivery of EMS projects that are essential to grid resilience.
    • Innovation Interface: You won’t just deploy software; you will directly influence our R&D roadmap by translating real-world utility challenges into product evolution.
    • Technical Leadership: You will command high-stakes environments, overseeing FAT/SAT milestones that define success for large-scale utility operations.
    What You Bring:
    • Deep Domain Fluency: You possess a sophisticated understanding of real-time grid applications and the resilience required for high-availability energy environments.
    • The "Translator" Advantage: You excel at navigating matrixed, global organizations—influencing cross-functional teams and aligning complex technical constraints with high-level business goals.
    • Strategic Execution: You have a history of navigating legacy-to-modern system migrations with precision, balancing customer-specific requirements with the need for platform standardization.
  • Knowledge Transition: Manage the "go-live" handover, ensuring a robust transition from the project team to the Maintenance & Support organization, including comprehensive training on EMS operations.

Technical Know-How Requirements

  • EMS Domain Expertise: Deep understanding of real-time grid applications (Load Flow, State Estimation, Automatic Generation Control, Network Analysis).
  • Architecture Proficiency: Thorough knowledge of the Reliance EMS platform architecture, including real-time data modeling, high-availability environments, and database management.
  • Process Excellence: Strength in implementing QA frameworks specifically designed for high-availability, mission-critical energy software.

Leadership & Soft Skills

  • Strategic Change Management: Proven ability to manage the technical migration of complex EMS legacy systems to the modern Reliance platform within traditional utility environments.
  • Stakeholder Influence: Ability to translate technical EMS constraints into business-relevant discussions with utility stakeholders, ensuring alignment between software capability and operational requirements.

Experience Requirements

    • Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Electrical or Power Systems Engineering.
    • 5+ years of driving complex, mission-critical software delivery (EMS/SCADA) for T&D utilities.
    • Demonstrated ability to own the deployment lifecycle within a matrix structure.
Note: the compensation listed with this posting for the Bellevue, WA market. It will be adjusted for Melbourne, FL and Atlanta, GA due to the cost of living.

Note:

To comply with US immigration and other legal requirements, it is necessary to specify the minimum number of years' experience required for any role based within the USA. For roles outside of the USA, to ensure compliance with applicable legislation, the JDs should focus on the substantive level of experience required for the role and a minimum number of years should NOT be used.
