Role Overview

The Field Services Technician will execute assigned field work by preparing and delivering job plans and technical documentation that define the scope of outage activities in line with engineering and process instructions.

You will ensure field activities are planned, documented, and executed safely and effectively by translating work orders into clear job plans and technical instructions. The role is responsible for defining the scope of work for outages, preparing and interpreting engineering instructions, drawings, and process documentation, and ensuring all required information is available to support successful execution in the field. By acting as the link between engineering and on‑site delivery, the technician helps ensure work is completed to specification, within scope, and in compliance with established procedures and standards.

Your Impact

  • Independently diagnose faults in wind turbine generator systems and components and implement effective repairs to restore equipment performance and reliability.
  • Execute both planned and unplanned maintenance activities on wind turbine generators and associated systems, ensuring high standards of quality and safety.
  • Complete all required administrative tasks accurately and on time, including debriefing work orders and service requests, preparing technical reports, and maintaining job status, time, and expense documentation.
  • Request advanced technical support through appropriate case management channels and coordinate with engineering teams to resolve complex issues.
  • Order materials and manage parts requirements efficiently to support timely maintenance and minimise downtime.
  • Exercise sound judgment in controlling costs and managing company funds responsibly while delivering maintenance activities.
  • Maintain a strong safety‑first mindset, ensuring all work complies with technical specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements, and coordinate external service providers when required.

What Success Looks Like in This Role

The ideal candidate is a technically qualified field professional with strong electrical expertise, a safetyfirst mindset, and the ability to operate independently in a dynamic wind energy environment who:

  • Brings hands‑on electrical technical experience, with proven exposure to field‑based service, engineering, or operational environments.
  • Demonstrates a strong commitment to EHS and quality standards, ensuring all work is completed safely, accurately, and to specification.
  • Confidently uses test equipment, interprets drawings and work instructions, and applies structured testing procedures to diagnose and resolve issues.
  • Communicates clearly and professionally, with strong English language skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external partners.
  • Is highly organised, computer‑literate, and flexible, willing to travel, work irregular or on‑call hours, and adapt to changing site and operational demands.
