What impact you’ll make

As a Field Service Technician, you will be an active contributor to the Field Services team, supporting the delivery of on-site technical services for customer-owned utility and industrial facilities. You will provide hands-on service, technical direction, and leadership during installation, startup, commissioning, and maintenance activities, while completing both field- and workshop-based work as required.

Job Description

What you’ll do

  • Provide on-site technical direction, hands-on service, and leadership during installation, startup, commissioning, and maintenance of customer-owned utility and industrial facilities.
  • Prepare job planning documents defining outage scope using engineering instructions, drawings, and process documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with management and colleagues, incorporating customer CTQs (Critical to Quality) into job planning and execution.
  • Lead and coordinate skilled labor performing work at customer sites.
  • Troubleshoot, inspect, and perform routine maintenance on equipment including power transformers, switchgear, protection relays, control systems, turbines, motors, and generators.
  • Diagnose electromechanical operation and maintenance issues within the Power Delivery field.
  • Perform administrative duties such as technical reporting, material ordering, quotations, job status reports, timesheets, and expense reports.
  • Exercise sound judgment in controlling costs and managing company expenditures.
  • Maintain a strong safety mindset, ensuring all work complies with TGE safety standards and technical requirements.

What you’ll bring (Basic Qualifications)

  • FP II or Grado Superior in Electrical, Electromechanical Maintenance, or equivalent Electrical Technician/Electrician qualification.
  • Experience in the electrical or power sector, ideally within the wind (renewable energy) industry.
  • Familiar with test equipment and testing procedures.
  • Computer literate, with experience in SCADA systems and standard office software (user level).
  • Unable to work on shifts/guard duties or at heights.
  • High level of Spanish and basic to intermediate level of English.
