Job Description Summary
All resources, and logistics required to perform services and maintenance activities on customers' site/property. These activities contribute to, maintain, repair and refurbish sold or existing products. Includes all types of maintenance service (preventive and remedial), manage maintenance facilities and field services engineering. Impacts quality of own work and the work of others on the team. Executes standard operational/technical tasks typically subject to instructions and work routines. There is latitude to rearrange the sequence to complete task/duties based on changing work situations.Job Description
Essential Responsibilities:
Field Services Technician will provide service, maintenance and warranty remediation and commissioning for installed photovoltaic inverters and BESS equipment. This position will be responsible for servicing customers primarily located within the US. Must be able to travel throughout the US as needed.
Perform Field Service to ensure 99% up time
Diagnose and repair faulted inverters
Troubleshoot issues with mechanical and electromechanical
Conduct annual periodic maintenance inspections
Keep maintenance records of findings
Assist with developing maintenance programs
Perform start-up and commissioning for new PV inverter installations.
Inspect physical installation (wiring, connections and mechanical condition)
Power up, set all required parameters and ensure proper operation
Monitor performance and efficiency levels
Maintain high customer satisfaction levels by providing excellent customer service.
Provide accurate and timely product service reports.
Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma / GED
Minimum of 2 years industry work experience with inverters
Travel Qualifications:
Ability and willingness to travel to and from customer locations –90% to 100%
Desired Characteristics:
2-year technical degree and/or equivalent certification
Great interpersonal, oral, and written skills are required.
Requires analytical and quantitative skills
Solar industry service experience is preferred (but not required)
Must be customer oriented with professional demeanor.
Must have knowledge of power electronics and controls.
Must have knowledge of Modbus serial and Ethernet communications
