GE Vernova Hitachi Nuclear Energy is looking to add engineering/ science/ business students for an internship starting in May 2027 to support the licensing team!

Hiring Requirements

As an Intern, you will:

  • Receive technical training, mentorship, and coaching from world-class highly experienced engineers and technical managers
  • Grow your technical expertise in your chosen field and expand your skills in new areas.
  • Experience technically challenging assignments in the power generation industry focusing on areas such as codes & standards, regulatory requirements,  systems and component design & analyses, for new reactor licensing
  • Prepare reports, data bases, presentations, solve problems, implement innovative initiatives, and collaborate with the team and other organizations.

Minimum Qualifications & Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must be enrolled in a full-time undergraduate or graduate program at an accredited university in engineering, science, project management, or business management.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must be willing to work in Wilmington, NC

Desired Qualifications:

  • Demonstrate initiative and leadership skills.
  • Demonstrate desire to advance nuclear power generation.
  • Strong written and verbal skills.
  • Team player, strong interpersonal skills.
  • Project Management experience
  • Eager to learn new technology and skillsets.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio etc.).
  • Proficiency in SharePoint, SmartSheet or similar computer tools
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams and engage with internal and external stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to work in an environment that complies cost, quality and schedule.
  • Knowledge of additional tools and software (MATLAB, AutoCAD etc.).
  • Previous Co-op/internship experience in Nuclear Industry

Employment Dates: May 2027-August 2027

The pay range for this position is $1,000-$2,000 USD weekly.  The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.

This position is also eligible for:

  • Relocation Assistance: Co-op/Interns will be reimbursed for reasonable, proper, and documented expenditures incurred while initially reporting to work and returning to school/home upon completion of the assignment. Employees with a permanent address greater than 50 miles away from the work location are eligible.
  • Housing Allowance: Co-op/Interns employees receive a weekly housing allowance to help off-set living expenses when the co-op/Intern’s permanent residence is at least 50 miles away from the work location.
  • Employee Assistance Program, providing 24/7 confidential assessment, counseling and referral services
  • GE Vernova Retirement Savings Plan (RSP) after their accumulated service reaches 90 days, and they meet any other eligibility requirements as defined in the plans. (Eligibility occurs on the 1st of the month following the 90th day.)
