Job Description
Job Description Summary
The GSI Commercial & Tendering Process & Tool Leader owns and continuously improves the Inquiry-to-Order (ITO) commercial/tendering process and the enabling tendering tools (e.g., MTA ITOC / PCDB). This role drives process reliability, audit readiness, tool adoption, data quality and analytics, and an effective handover from ITO to OTR execution. The role partners closely with regional tendering teams, cross-functional stakeholders (Engineering, Sourcing, Construction, PM, Logistics), and DT to deliver measurable improvements in speed, quality, and consistency.Job Description
Process Ownership (ITO Commercial & Tendering)
- Serve as the GSI ITO process owner, aligned with GE Vernova / ESY process owners and compliant with company instructions, policies, and Quality System requirements.
- Maintain and update process documentation in the Quality System; ensure alignment with business priorities and organizational changes.
- Define, monitor, and report process KPIs (e.g., cycle time, quality, compliance) and lead corrective and continuous improvement actions using Lean methodology.
- Collect and incorporate feedback from global users and stakeholders (regions, solution lines, execution teams, consortium partners, major subcontractors).
- Support internal/external quality audits (ISO, corporate, customer, etc.) and drive timely closure of nonconformities.
- Partner with Operations to ensure an effective ITO-to-OTR / Execution handover and robust interface with ITR/OTR processes.
Tool & Data Leadership (Tendering Tools)
- Own the functional strategy, roadmap, adoption, and value realization for the internal tendering tools (MTA ITOC / PCDB) to enable consistent cost build-up, aggregation, and consolidation.
- Drive global rollout and standard ways of working across regions/solution lines; manage required configurations while protecting core standards.
- Build and lead a key-user community; define training approach and maintain user guidance and minimum required documentation.
- Provide functional escalation support; drive root-cause resolution of recurring issues and promote best practices.
- Drive data quality and analytics for tendering to improve decision-making and performance (e.g., estimate accuracy, variance/outlier detection, adoption metrics).
DT Partnership, Enhancements & Integration
- Act as primary functional interface with DT/IT for access, performance, upgrades, and integrations.
- Capture, prioritize, and manage requirements from the user community; maintain a transparent backlog and release plan.
- Plan and lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and support controlled deployment of changes.
- Drive integration with adjacent ITO/OTR tools to support a single source of truth and end-to-end “digital thread.”
AI-Enabled Improvements
- Identify and prioritize practical AI use cases to improve tendering speed, quality, and compliance (e.g., requirement extraction, spec summarization, automated checks, anomaly detection), in partnership with DT and stakeholders.
- Ensure AI adoption follows company governance (privacy, IP, security, auditability) and includes clear human-in-the-loop review expectations.
- Define and track AI impact measures (cycle time reduction, rework reduction, improved quality) and support user enablement (playbooks/training).
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
- Minimum 7 years of relevant experience, including 2+ years in tendering for EPC or complex engineered projects.
- Experience with commercial/tendering processes and cross-functional coordination in a global matrix environment.
- Demonstrated experience in process improvement; Lean / Lean Six Sigma strongly preferred.
- Strong analytical/problem-solving skills; ability to use data to drive decisions and improvements.
- Strong communication and stakeholder leadership skills across all organizational levels.
- Experience working with digital/tool delivery concepts (requirements, backlog prioritization, UAT, releases); Agile familiarity is a plus.
Desired Characteristics
- Credible change agent with ability to influence without authority.
- Practical, structured approach; able to simplify complex topics and drive standardization.
- Customer/user-focused mindset with strong listening skills.
- Comfortable operating with ambiguity and delivering results in a fast-moving environment.
- Experience with audit environments and quality systems (ISO/corporate audits).
- Data literacy (e.g., Power BI/analytics experience) is a plus.
