Job Description Summary
Role Summary:The Lead Engineer supports key design initiatives in the electric power industry, with a focus on the design and integration of instrumentation and control (I&C) systems for Aeroderivative Gas Turbine products and related power plant equipment.
In this role, you will contribute to a diverse portfolio of programs, including New Product Introduction (NPI), Services, ITR, PCO, and CM&U projects. Your work will involve performing technical analyses, developing designs, preparing drawings and specifications, and supporting resolution of customer issues related to system performance and reliability.

Job Description
Essential Functions:
• Support the electrical/system design and integration of Aeroderivative Gas Turbine packages across multiple product lines in power plant applications
• Select and evaluate electrical and electronic hardware for gas turbine generator systems, including analog/digital signals and network architectures
• Contribute to electrical design activities, including AC/DC distribution, cable sizing, raceway systems, earthing and bonding, and integration of instrumentation into industrial control panels
• Support detailed design activities, including system sizing and interfaces (UPS, batteries, instrumentation/control systems, power distribution, and motor controls) used in power plants
• Lead or contribute to design reviews focused on reliability, performance, safety, and compliance
• Participate in problem-solving activities, including Root Cause Analysis (RCA), FMEA, and HAZOP reviews
• Apply knowledge of relevant national and international standards (e.g., IEC, IEEE, NEC, CSA, ATEX) to ensure compliance
• Support project and program execution by developing schedules, tracking milestones, and coordinating tasks with cross-functional teams
• Interpret Single Line Diagrams and develop wiring, loop, and schematic diagrams to enhance overall system performance
• Contribute to improvements in quality, delivery, and cost within the team’s scope
• Apply lean principles such as standard work, product standardization, and continuous improvement (Kaizen)
• Ensure accurate and complete technical documentation in line with engineering procedures
• Collaborate closely with internal teams and external stakeholders—including Production, Global Supply Chain, Product Services, Project Fulfillment, Performance, Supplier Quality, Applications, and Controls Engineering—to deliver project outcomes
Qualifications/Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
• Proven track record in Electrical & Instrumentation system design
• Good command of English (spoken and written), enabling effective communication in an international environment
Desired Characteristics:

• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency in NX 3D CAD, AutoCAD, and ePLAN
