Job Description Summary
Essential Functions / Responsibilities:Design mechanical and electrical components and assemblies utilized within GE’s Dead Tank High-Voltage (HV) circuit breaker products. Utilize CREO Wildfire software with special focus on g3 and SF6 gas technology. Address design, analysis, and project management tasks adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product and program requirements. Analyze mechanical and electrical components with simulation software such as ANSYS and MC3. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that project milestones are achieved and that the final product meets all required specifications. Work closely with designers and draftsmen, ensuring manufacturability, ease of assembly, cost effectiveness, and quality of products. Prepare and deliver updates to program managers and other key team members. Plan and oversee type tests according to IEEE and IEC standards to qualify circuit breakers and components. Work in coordination with R&D Test Engineers. Develop and execute action plans to address issues, resolve problems, and manage any additional assigned tasks. Review and approve detailed engineering component and assembly drawings. Create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOM) within the SAP system. Ensure that the documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and tasks adheres to engineering policies and procedures.
Job Description
Qualifications / Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Engineering Design Technology, or related. Employer will accept a combination of relevant academic coursework and work experience evaluated as the equivalent of a Bachelor’s degree in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree. Five (5) years of progressive work experience in developing High-Voltage (HV) dead tank circuit breakers. Work experience to include: CREO 3D CAD software; Windchill software; ANSYS simulation software; SAP software; Power testing of dead tank circuit breakers; Dielectric testing and environmental testing of high voltage products; Simulation software for high-voltage and high-current interrupters to include: AMESIM or MC3; and SF6 and alternative insulating gases for dead tank circuit breakers. This position allows for a hybrid work arrangement. Candidate may work remotely 2 days per week, within 30 miles of company location in Charleroi, PA.
