Job Description Summary

As Lead Engineer – Mechanical Engineering, you will be responsible for leading the design, analysis, and evaluation of composite structures for wind turbine blades, applying solid engineering principles and adhering to GE Vernova's product standards and procedures.
In this role, you will perform structural design and analysis using tools such as CATIA, ANSYS, and in-house platforms, incorporating new load evaluations based on internal and external customer requirements. You will contribute to identifying key design risks through comprehensive DFMEA processes and actively participate in design reviews as both a presenter and reviewer.
You will play a key role in supporting production and quality issue investigations, working closely with factories to address blade defects, manage product deviations, and identify opportunities to improve blade acceptance criteria and defect-handling approaches. When needed, you will engage with senior management or certifying bodies to communicate technical findings and solutions clearly.
The position also involves continuously improving blade structural design methods and procedures, supporting the integration of your team's work across broader engineering domains, and understanding key business drivers to deliver effective outcomes.
The role is based in Bangalore, India, and may require domestic and international travel at short notice.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Execute design analysis or evaluation of assigned projects using solid engineering principles and adhering to company product/program standards, practices, procedures, and requirements.  
  • Perform design and analysis of composite structures with new load evaluations based on internal or external customer requests using CATIA, ANSYS & in-house tools
  • Understanding of key business drivers; use this understanding to accomplish your own work.
  • Understanding of how your team’s work integrates with other teams and contributes to the domain.
  • Contribute to the identification of key design risks and the mitigation plan through a comprehensive DFMEA for the blade structure.
  • Participate as a presenter and/or reviewer in the design review of the structure.
  • Continuously maintain and improve blade structural design methods and procedures.
  • Support Production/Quality Issue root cause investigations. If needed, interact with senior management or customer / certifying body to explain the problem, solution and clear their technical concerns.
  • Improve blade Acceptance Criteria proactively to reduce unnecessary repair.
  • Provides support to factories for variety of quality and production issues – look for improvement opportunity on blade design or defect handling approaches.
  • Handle the engineering part of product deviation in production. 

 

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college
