Job Description Summary

The Lead Transport specialist manages Outbound and inward logistics in a manner that shall meet business fulfillment requirements in parallel with the goal of transportation cost reduction. , self-motivated individual to fill the role of supply chain management and to ensure planned schedule to delivery on time for all Outbound and Inbound shipments, Directing, optimizing, and coordinating full order cycle to support TPM ,SCM and Production team.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Outward: To ensure and planned vessel connection for Export Market, & Transport facility and placement of vehicle availability for Domestic Market - Efficiently planned and arranged for execution as per sales plan to deliver the goods to customer destination on time.
  • Inward: Collaborate with Logistics partner, Transport Management System (OTM) and Global team to ensure timely Pick up and connecting vessel /flight deliveries through Sea FCL/LCL & Air mode. To support SCM and planning schedule to meet production requirements.
  • Strategically Plan and coordinate outbound logistics of Export and Domestics market to various customer & Inbound logistics of import goods from various suppliers.
  • Lead the Export and Import shipment and Domestic dispatch to do the planning process by enhanced system utilization and contractual coverage through collaboration with business operations.
  • To ensure Budget vs Actual transport cost to be monitored and compared to RFQ rate considered both the outward and inward shipment for Sea FCL/LCL/AIR by coordinating with Global team.
  • To finalize competitive freight rate and freeze RFQ rate for Sea /Air for Export and import shipment & Road transport for Domestic market by doing rate comparative and negotiation along with Globel team.
  • Monitoring Budget vs Actual Transport Cost to be considered project wise and every quarter logistics to share ROE & Budget vs Actual rate analysis data and market rate fluctuation to support for biting by doing close co-ordination with Tendering team for transport cost w.r.t budget.
  • KPI - Targeted saving on freight will be achieved with reference to the tendering cost by doing optimize shipments, timely delivery as per planned vessel, and Road transport cost efficiency through close tracker for Export/Import shipment and Domestic market.
  • By coordinating with CHA to Establishing and managing customs clearance and transportation for both the Export and Import consignment to ensure timely deliveries.
  • PR/PO -Service Contract/Management for service provider as per contract before availing the service.
  • Compliance- EHS and Trade compliance: Ensure all operations comply with global standards as per GE Value spirit and letter.

Required Qualifications

  • This role requires advanced experience in the Logistics & Packing. Knowledge level is comparable
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Business Management, Engineering or Technical Degree from an accredited university or college.
  • Minimum 12+ years in logistics operations and sourcing, in manufacturing environment.
