Job Description Summary
The Lead Procurement Specialist manages the purchasing process for welded steel commodities. This role applies sourcing policy, interfaces between supplier and entity with respect to specifications and budgets. The Procurement Specialist also impacts the quality of own work and the work of others on the team, and is focused on the execution of standard enabling activities/provision of advice subject to policy and work routines within an enabling discipline. There may be some latitude to rearrange the sequence to complete task/duties based on changing situations.Job Description
What you will do (Responsibilities):
Executes the follow-up activities of the Purchase Orders. Manages relationships with suppliers for PO execution.
Manages problems and schedule changes. Keeps ERP updated with most recent and accurate forecast.
Ensures smooth supplier payment activities.
Applies general knowledge of business developed through education or past experience. Understands how work of own team contributes to the area.
Resolves issues using established procedures. Consults People Leader or more senior team members for issues outside of defined parameters.
Collaborates with others to solve issues. Exchanges technical information, asks questions and checks for understanding.
Handles simple data entry work requiring face value check and correction
Lead discussions with suppliers during execution in case of claims, PO changes in coordination with the Project.
What you will bring? (Required Qualifications):
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field: Engineering / Supply Chain Management / Business / Economy
Experience: Proven experience in Procurement and Supply Chain for technical/mechanical commodities (preferably metals) within Engineering, Construction, and Turnkey projects.
Personality: Project management mindset with strong compliance and controllership focus; self-directed, detail-oriented, organized, and flexible in managing multiple priorities.
Language: Fluent in English
Tools: Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) with familiarity in contract execution and Procure-to-Pay processes within SAP-based ERP systems.
What will make you stand out? (Desired Qualifications):
An Engineering Degree is a plus
Experience in the Power Generation / Energy industry, preferably working technical knowledge of Hydro or correlated segments is a strong adder
Technical knowledge of Welded Structures, Steel and other Metal commodities
Spanish, French or German is a plus
Technology enthusiast
Passion/aptitude for both software and information technology
Up to date with current industry standards, digital tools
