Job Description Summary

We are looking for a Lead Project Planner to join GE Vernova’s Hydro Power North America division. In this role, you will act as a strategic partner to project leadership, defining the planning approach and schedule strategy for complex, high-risk projects. You will play a pivotal role in project execution by leading cross-functional alignment, driving advanced schedule analysis, and facilitating high-level reviews with customers and consortium partners. By ensuring robust progress tracking and proactive mitigation of risks, you will support project objectives related to cost, schedule, and performance while ensuring contractual commitments are met.

Your expertise will be instrumental in improving project execution performance, fostering team maturity through mentorship, and building confidence with our customers.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead development, integration, optimization, and maintenance of project schedules and baselines for complex projects.
  • Define the project planning approach, schedule strategy, and governance in alignment with execution strategy and contractual requirements.
  • Drive baseline development and freeze processes across project functions.
  • Perform advanced schedule analysis including critical path, float erosion, impact analysis, interface analysis, and what-if scenario modeling.
  • Lead identification of schedule risks and opportunities and drive mitigation, acceleration, and recovery plans with project teams.
  • Support or lead development of committed schedules, rebaselines, and schedule strategies related to change or delay situations.
  • Ensure planning deliverables support project reviews, management decision-making, and customer communication requirements.
  • Lead planning reviews with project leadership, customers, consortium partners, and other key stakeholders when required.
  • Challenge execution assumptions and help shape project priorities through schedule insight and structured analysis.
  • Oversee schedule quality, planning assumptions, and consistency of planning outputs.
  • Mentor Planners and Schedulers and promote planning standards, methods, and best practices.
  • Support schedule-related claims analysis, delay assessments, and change impact evaluations where required.
  • Contribute to improvement of planning processes, tools, and project execution practices.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • 10+ years of planning and scheduling experience in EPC or similarly complex project environments.
  • Advanced knowledge of planning and scheduling methodologies.
  • Advanced Primavera P6 proficiency.
  • Strong experience in hydropower, energy, infrastructure, or industrial project execution.
  • Experience in schedule recovery, change management, and delay analysis.
  • Strong leadership, collaboration, and communication skills.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Legal authorization to work in the United States.
  • Must be available for travel to U.S. sites approximately 10% of the time.
  • Must be able to adjust work schedule to accommodate any U.S. time zone.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certifications such as PMI-SP, PMP, or AACE-PSP.
  • Background in cost control and earned value management (EVMS).
  • Knowledge of Lean principles and the Last Planner System.
  • Experience with US Government projects.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $87,000.00 and $145,000.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.

 

 

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
