Job Description Summary
We are looking for Lead RTDS Verification Engineer to join our FACTS Control Software team in Noida, India. In this position, you will be reporting to FACTS India Control SW team Engineering Manager and indirectly to Project Managers during project phase. You are or will have the possibility to become an expert in the field of grid integration of high power (> 100MVAr) reactive power compensators namely STATCOM (static synchronous compensator) and SVC (static var compensator).Job Description

Your main task is real time testing of STATCOM and SVC control systems in laboratory using Real Time Digital Simulator (RTDS). You will also handle bug fixing and improvement implementation for the control system software using Matlab Simulink. In addition, you will get opportunity to participate in the commissioning of the compensator at the actual site. The work may also include taking part in R&D activities related RTDS testing. As lead control engineer you will also lead, train and mentor other control software and RTDS verification engineers and maintain safety and lean practices in RTDS laboratory.
Key Individual Accountabilities
• Produce high quality test program document and reports
• Technical leadership in control and protection system testing and verification with RTDS
• Implement Control software features and correct bugs
• Research and development in the field of FACTS control system testing
• Taking responsibility from own work
• Mentor and train other Control SW and testing engineers
• Researching, implementing and improving test methodologies (test automation)
• Identify and evaluate EHS risks in laboratory and implement improvements
• People leadership
• Technical leadership
Qualifications/Requirements:
• MSc (or higher) degree in Electrical/ Power Electronics/Power Systems/ control system with 3-15 years of relevant experience
• Specialized knowledge in Electrical Power Engineering or/and Power Electronics
• Understanding of control theory behind grid connected devices
• Knowledge in compensation systems and power electronics
• Knowledge and experience on real time hardware in loop testing with RTDS
• Fluent written and oral skills in English – other language skill is a benefit
• Strong prioritizing and time management skills
• Capability to lead team
• Knowledge of waveform and fault analysis.
