Job Description for Lead Sourcing Specialist

  • Develop and implement sourcing strategies to meet the business sourcing objectives.

  • Identify potential suppliers and conduct thorough evaluations to assess their capabilities, reliability, and quality standards.

  • Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions with suppliers to secure favourable pricing, payment terms, and service level agreements.

  • Continuously monitor and evaluate supplier performance, ensuring timely delivery of goods and services while maintaining quality standards.

  • Collaborate closely with internal departments to understand their sourcing needs, specifications, and requirements.

  • Conduct market research to identify emerging trends, new suppliers, and cost-saving opportunities.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, fostering partnerships based on trust, reliability, and mutual benefits.

  • Lead supplier audits and evaluations to ensure compliance with ethical standards, legal regulations, and industry best practices.

  • Regularly review and analyse sourcing data and metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.

  • Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and changes in regulations that may impact sourcing strategies.

Required qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, business administration, or a related field is an additional advantage.

  • 12–14 years Proven experience in sourcing domain.

  • In-depth knowledge of sourcing strategies, supplier management, and procurement processes.

  • Strong understanding of contract laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.

  • Proficient in using procurement software and tools.

  • Excellent negotiation and relationship management skills.

  • Familiarity with industry-specific regulations and standards.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Professional certification such as Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) is a plus.

  • Experience in the power transformer industry or sector relevant to the company's operations is preferred.
