Systems engineering is a cross-functional engineering discipline centered on an approach, mindset, and process. All activities that consider both the business and the technical needs of the customers with the goal of providing a quality product that meets the user's needs.
The Lead System Engineer — Power Quality is a technically strong and commercially aware engineering role responsible for the selection, sizing, configuration and delivery of complex power quality solutions. The role spans the full project lifecycle — from initial customer engagement and proposal development through to technical delivery and continuous improvement — working closely with business verticals, platform engineering, supply chain and GE Vernova's global engineering community.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • Lead the selection, sizing, and configuration of power quality based systems (like rotating stabilizer, STATCOM, etc.,) and related equipment.
  • Selection and sizing of MV/ LV VSD based system on Oil & Gas will be an added advantage.
  • Prepare and review technical documentation, calculations, drawings, and proposal inputs.
  • Apply deep knowledge on key components like VSD, SFC, Transformer, Filters, Motor and other power system equipment's.
  • Develop and review system SLD, protection SLD, layout preparation for large system projects.
  • Perform System design and Analysis for VSD/SFC, power quality solutions across a range of industrial and utility applications
  • Support Business Verticals in creating and reviewing (in conjunction with the leadership team) systems solutions as part of the ITO/OTR process, ensuring that solutions are technically fit for purpose and that technical risk is understood and managed with contingencies identified.
  • Analyze customer's contract, prepare specifications to vendors and internal stake holders 
  • Prepare technical documentation as per contractual requirements, vendor documentation review
  • Prepare high quality proposal inputs, technical write-ups and solution configurations that differentiate GE Vernova's offerings in competitive tenders
  • Identify technical risks and put in place the mitigation plan
  • Review solutions developed and identify opportunities for improvement of process, system, or equipment
  • Support the implementation of agreed process and technology improvements identified through project experience and lessons learned
  • Ensure strict compliance with all company and customer’s EHS policies and procedures
  • Identify and propose improvements in processes, tools, system solutions and technologies, rolling out improvements when agreed with leadership team
  • Foster relationship with other GE Vernova business entities to maximize the benefits of synergies
  • Liaise with Platform Engineering, Technology and Value Engineering, and Supply Chain as appropriate to support the project and the business
  • Liaise with other GE Vernova businesses, platform verticals, supply chain, sub-contractors and suppliers as appropriate to support the project and the business
  • Drive lean mind set to provide optimum technical solutions for the projects

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Masters / Bachelor’s in Electrical from reputed College/University
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in Project/ Design Engineering for projects based on Power Quality/ VSDS for Industry /Marine / Oil & Gas / Power domains
  • Knowledge and application of International Standards
  • Ability to adapt and multitask with project/application engineers
  • Analytical and innovative approach in problem solving
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications
  • PLM, Primavera experience are added advantage
