Job Description

Job Description Summary

At GE Vernova, we don’t just manufacture high-voltage technology—we ensure it is bulletproof. We are looking for a Lead Test Development Engineer to join our team in Stafford. You will be the architect behind the test solutions that validate our modules and products, ensuring that our equipment meets the highest safety and reliability standards before it ever hits the grid.
If you are a hands-on engineer who loves the intersection of software, hardware, and high-voltage power systems, we have a challenge for you.

Job Description

Your Impact

You will be the bridge between R&D and the production line. Your designs will define how we measure excellence, your software will drive the efficiency of our manufacturing, and your troubleshooting will ensure that our global energy projects remain safe, reliable, and on schedule.

What You’ll Do

  • Build the Future of Test: Design, develop, and implement robust, end-to-end production test solutions for high-voltage applications.
  • Bridge Hardware and Software: Develop test systems that integrate sophisticated electronic circuitry with custom software (LabVIEW/embedded), ensuring they are as reliable as the products they test.
  • Ensure Safety & Compliance: Lead the charge on PUWER, WEEE, RoHS, and REACH compliance, making safety-critical testing not just a requirement, but a standard of excellence.
  • Solve the Complex: Get hands-on with fault-finding and debugging. When a production challenge arises, you will be the technical lead identifying the root cause.
  • Lead the Lifecycle: Manage your projects from the initial "Design for Test" evaluation through to planning, commissioning, and training the operators who will use your systems.
  • Collaborate Globally: Partner with internal cross-functional teams and external outsourcing partners to ensure our test solutions are world-class.

Who You Are

  • A Technical Expert: You have a degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science, paired with significant experience in a high-tech manufacturing or testing environment.
  • A LabVIEW & Embedded Pro: You have the coding skills to build test automation that is efficient, scalable, and accurate.
  • A "Design for Test" Advocate: You understand that great testing begins in the design phase, and you advocate for DfM/DfT principles at every turn.
  • A Natural Problem Solver: You don’t shy away from complex circuitry or high-voltage challenges; you find clarity in the details.
  • An Effective Communicator: You can explain complex test requirements to operators, management, and suppliers with equal clarity and confidence.

Why Join Us?

This is a rare opportunity to see your designs implemented in a real-world manufacturing environment. Based in our Stafford hub, you will be working on systems that power the energy transition, supported by a global team of experts. We offer a culture that prioritizes your autonomy, professional development, and the chance to leave a lasting mark on our manufacturing excellence.
