The Manufacturing Engineering and Industrialization Leader will lead a strategic engineering team taking Gas & Steam Turbine Rotor/Stator Component (from precision 5-axis blade manufacturing to 50T rotor shafts) manufacturing processes from concept to operational stability utilizing standard lean manufacturing principles for the factory.  In this role, you will collaborate across multiple organizations including safety, operations, quality, and engineering to take designs and process improvements into production with a hands-on team focusing on delivering full production-ready processes. The Industrialization team will provide technical support and implement solutions for the Bangor Plant to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost as well as lead product New Product Introduction (NPI) efforts.

What You'll Do:

  • Define manufacturing engineering strategy for the Bangor Plant.
  • Own the development area for product and process implementation.
  • Hire and develop talent with expertise ranging across traditional/non-traditional machining, inspection/metrology, hardware/software controls, and NDT including direct people management of over 20 professional employees.
  • Utilize in-depth knowledge of traditional/non-traditional machining and CNC equipment, analytical thinking, and technical experience to execute policy/strategy and Roadmap initiatives.
  • Focal point for new product introductions, part and technology transfers, new process introductions, and strategic investments; inclusive of lead time, technology selection, tooling, fixturing, programming, quality plan, and acceptance of initial production sets.
  • Manage project timelines to meet customer needs with a strong focus on safety, process capability, and qualifications.
  • Create, standardize, and optimize manufacturing processes.
  • Lead productivity efforts across the site for cost competitiveness.
  • Incorporate lean manufacturing principles into process development.
  • Utilize kaizen activities for continuous improvement and collaborate with Advanced Manufacturing team on breakthrough initiatives.
  • Partner cross-functionally to align priorities and drive greatest customer outcomes while maximizing business results.
  • Work with customers, functional leaders, and internal staff to meet organizational requirements.
  • Work cross-functionally to resolve technical challenges, implement large impactful simplification efforts, and drive product cost.
  • Provide ongoing feedback to team members, build trusting relationships and be a motivator for positive change and growth.
  • Ensure communication of key business / customer issues to employees.
  • Interface with other organizations and vendors to assure requirements are met on time.

What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Leadership experience.
  • A minimum 8 years of in Production Process and Equipment experience.

  • Must be authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship now or in the future.
  • This position is an on-site role at our GE Gas Power Bangor, ME location.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $122,600.00 and $204,400.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.

 

 

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
