Job Description

Job Description Summary

At GE Vernova, we don’t just design the world’s most advanced energy technology—we build it. We are looking for a Manufacturing Quality Engineer to be our primary technical authority on the shop floor. From core and winding to final assembly and testing, you will be the expert ensuring that every HVDC transformer we deliver is built to perfection.
If you are a hands-on engineer who loves the factory environment, believes that quality is a culture rather than a checklist, and excels at solving complex manufacturing puzzles, this is your opportunity to drive excellence in the energy transition.

Job Description

Your Impact

You will be the bridge between design intent and physical reality. By coaching teams, monitoring process stability, and leading root-cause investigations, you will minimize waste and maximize the reliability of the critical infrastructure powering our global energy grid.

What You’ll Do

  • Own the Floor: Be the primary quality lead for every stage of production—from the first winding to the final Factory Acceptance Test (FAT).
  • Master the Process: Maintain our Quality Control Plans and ensure that every process, from insulation to oil filling, meets our "Zero-Defect" standard.
  • Lead the Investigation: When a challenge arises, you don't just fix it—you solve it. Use 8D and 5-Why methodologies to uncover the root cause and ensure it never happens again.
  • Coach for Excellence: Act as a mentor to shop-floor teams, instilling a culture of quality ownership and precision.
  • Champion Improvement: Use data to drive Lean/Six Sigma projects that refine our processes, reduce scrap, and boost First Pass Yield (FPY).
  • Collaborate for Success: Partner with Production, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams to ensure that quality is built in, not inspected in.

Who You Are

  • A Proven Professional: You have a degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering and hands-on experience in heavy electrical manufacturing.
  • A Technical Authority: You are highly proficient in FMEA, SPC, and MSA, and you can read complex electrical and mechanical drawings with ease.
  • A Natural Coach: You don’t just tell people what to do; you explain why, building a quality-first culture in a fast-paced environment.
  • Data-Driven: You love turning performance metrics into stories that drive real operational change.
  • Disciplined & Proactive: You have an "ownership mindset"—you see a risk before it becomes a problem and you take the initiative to solve it.

Why Join Us?

You will be working in a high-stakes, high-impact environment where your contributions directly ensure the reliability of the global energy supply. We offer a culture that values innovation, safety, and individual growth, providing you with the tools and the team to advance your career as an expert in quality engineering.
