Job Description Summary

GE Vernova's Gas Power business designs, manufactures, and services gas turbines and related equipment used to generate electricity. It is one of the world's largest providers of gas power technology, with an installed base of more than 7,000 gas turbines across approximately 100 countries. The business supports both the generation of reliable power today and the transition toward lower-carbon energy systems over time.

The Material Management Specialist is responsible for the end-to-end procurement and fulfillment of parts required for regional and global customer needs. This role focuses on the tactical execution of the "Inquiry to Order" (ITO) and "Order to Receipt" (OTR) processes. The Specialist ensures that parts are ordered, tracked, and delivered on time by managing the relationship between GE internal factories, service shops, and the project fulfillment teams.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • ITO Execution: Manage the Inquiry to Order (ITO) process by validating material requirements, coordinating with supply teams for lead times and pricing, and ensuring accurate inputs for customer quotes.
  • Procurement Execution: Manage the daily procurement of parts, including issuing purchase orders (POs), maintaining open order reports, and ensuring all documentation is accurate and compliant with internal policies.
  • Fulfilment Management: Own the "Order to Receipt" process for assigned parts. Track shipments, monitor lead times, and proactively resolve shipping or supply delays to meet customer delivery dates.
  • Tactical Supply Coordination: Execute against defined sourcing strategies and allocation rules. Work directly with internal GE factories and service shops to confirm capacity, expedite critical parts, and resolve order conflicts.
  • Order Maintenance: Ensure all ERP/MRP system data (delivery dates, pricing, vendor confirmations) is current. Conduct regular reviews of open orders to identify and clear roadblocks.
  • Cross-Functional Problem Solving: Partner with Sourcing, Logistics, and Fulfillment teams to solve day-to-day material shortages. Provide timely updates to stakeholders when delivery dates are at risk.
  • Compliance & Reporting: Ensure all buying activities adhere to company procurement policies and financial controls. Monitor and report on key metrics such as On-Time Delivery (OTD) and past-due order status.

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
  • 3–5+ years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or material management in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Strong experience with ERP/MRP systems for order management and inventory tracking.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage high-volume transactional workloads and prioritize competing demands.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to coordinate effectively with internal factory teams and stakeholders.

Desired Characteristics

  • Execution Focus: Proven track record of managing full ITO and OTR cycles with a high degree of accuracy and speed.
  • Detail Oriented: Strong ability to track multiple parts and orders simultaneously without losing sight of the critical path.
  • Problem-Solving: Proactive approach to identifying supply gaps and working with factories to find recovery solutions.
  • Collaboration: Ability to influence others without direct authority, specifically when working with factory production teams to prioritize parts.
  • System Proficiency: Advanced skills in Excel and ERP systems; ability to quickly analyse data to track PO status and fulfilment trends.

What we offer:

  • Employment under an employment contract in an international company with a strong position in the energy market.
  • Extensive personal and professional development opportunities in an innovative and future- oriented environment.
  • Open and supportive corporate culture that promotes creativity and teamwork.
  • Attractive compensation  package including private medical care, life insurance, MultiSport card and annual bonus.
