Job Description Summary
We're looking for a hands-on Materials Planning Leader to support and drive materials availability within our Phu My plant operations.This role requires a strong foundation in materials planning, MRP, and inventory control, combined with the ability to take ownership, influence stakeholders, and progressively lead within the team.
The ideal candidate is not only able to execute planning activities, but also proactively drive improvements, solve operational challenges, and support team development.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
Materials Planning & Execution
- Execute and maintain materials planning activities to support production schedules and ensure material availability
- Manage and optimize MRP parameters (lead time, safety stock, reorder point, lot size, MOQ)
- Monitor and control inventory levels, balancing stock availability and excess/obsolete risks
- Identify and resolve material shortages, working closely with production and procurement teams
Production & Operations Integration
- Work closely with production planning, shop-floor teams, and warehouse to align material supply with operational needs
- Translate production plans into material requirements and execution plans
- Support urgent operational issues (e.g. line-stop risks, late deliveries) in a timely manner
Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement
- Analyze material flow and inventory data to identify root causes and improvement opportunities
- Drive initiatives to improve: planning accuracy, inventory turnover, service level / material availability
- Contribute to improving planning processes and system usage (ERP/MRP)
Leadership & Ownership
- Take ownership of planning scope and proactively drive decisions, not just execution
- Influence cross-functional stakeholders (production, procurement, logistics) to ensure alignment
- Support and guide team members where needed, contributing to overall team capability
- Act as a key point of accountability for materials availability performance
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, or related field.
6+ years of supply chain experience in manufacturing or industrial environments.
Experience in Materials Planning / Production Planning / Supply Planning within a manufacturing or plant environment
Hands-on experience with:
MRP / ERP systems (e.g. SAP)
Inventory planning and control
Material availability managementStrong understanding of:
MRP logic
Inventory management principles
Production-material integrationExperience with ERP systems (SAP or similar).
Knowledge of customs, import/export regulations, and compliance processes.
Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
Good communication in English and ability to work in technical environment.
