Job Description Summary
Scout, build, and prove digital and AI solutions that simplify the work of frontline teams across Gas Power Global Supply Chain. This role combines functional knowledge in supply chain, manufacturing, materials, or quality with hands-on capability to identify real problems at the floor level, prototype solutions using AI and no-code digital tools, and run structured pilots with real users. Partners closely with Global Process Digital Authorities for problem identification and functional requirements, and with Digital Technology teams to ensure solutions are scalable and can be incorporated into the organization's global digital catalog.Job Description
Key Responsibilities
Problem Intake and Opportunity Identification
Engage directly with frontline teams including planners, operators, quality and manufacturing engineers to surface and document real operational pain points. Every solution starts with a validated problem.
Partner with Global Process Digital Authorities and subject matter experts to validate problem statements, confirm functional requirements, and ensure that a digital or AI solution is the right answer before building begins.
Stay current with emerging AI tools, platforms, and supply chain technology trends. Bring ideas from outside the organization to problems identified inside it.
Solution Building and Incubation
Build and iterate on AI agents, automated workflows, and digital tools using no-code and low-code platforms, in close partnership with Digital Technology and AI teams. Design solutions with scalability in mind from the start, building in a way that can be standardized and deployed across sites.
Evaluate and deploy third party AI solutions that address validated frontline problems.
Move from problem to working prototype fast. Experiment freely, learn from what does not work, and treat a failed prototype as progress toward the right solution. Speed of experimentation is as important as quality of output.
Document every solution thoroughly: what it does, why it is designed the way it is, and how it connects to the broader data and process landscape.
Participate in technology evaluations alongside Senior New Technology Introduction Leaders, providing hands-on technical assessment and functional testing of candidate solutions.
Work directly alongside the people who will use the solution during development.
Collaboration and Handoff
Work closely with Global Process Digital Authorities throughout solution development to ensure tools reflect global process standards and integrate cleanly with existing systems and data flows. Partner with the Master Data Governance team to confirm data requirements and field mapping before any solution is tested with frontline users.
Prepare a clean handoff package when a solution is ready to scale: functional documentation, training materials, data requirements, and a summary of pilot outcomes.
Partner with Digital Technology and AI teams to formalize proven prototypes, incorporating them into the organization's global digital ecosystem and ensuring they are supported, maintained, and available for deployment across all sites.
Contribute to a growing library of reusable components, prompt templates, and workflow patterns that the team can build on rather than starting from scratch.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related technical field.
3+ years of experience in supply chain operations, manufacturing, quality engineering, or materials management in an industrial environment.
Hands-on experience with digital tools, data analysis, or process improvement in an operational context.
Working knowledge of AI tools and no-code or low-code platforms; comfortable building and testing digital solutions without writing production-level code.
Ability to build trust and credibility with frontline operational teams. Earns the right to be heard through functional knowledge and the quality of what is built, not through organizational authority.
Desired Characteristics
Experience with AI agent development, workflow automation, or data integration in an operations or supply chain context.
Familiarity with supply chain systems such as SAP, Oracle, or manufacturing execution systems in a manufacturing environment.
Lean or continuous improvement background; applies the same discipline to digital solutions that lean applies to process improvement: identify the problem, prove the solution, then standardize.
Energized by fast iteration and comfortable shipping imperfect first versions to real users. More interested in learning what works than in being right about what should work.
Strong documentation habits; explains the reasoning behind every design decision, not just what was built.
Comfortable with ambiguity and working in a team that operates with urgency inside a large global organization.
