Job Description Summary
This position will establish work plans that safely ensure the production of high-quality products that meet compliance and project requirements for Steam Turbine Rotor & Valve projects. Drive continuous improvement across the product lines by owning project timelines, improving cycle & cost, and resolving technical/process issues. Lead and effectively interface with manufacturing and other support teams to complete projects to meet EHS, production, quality, and cost savings goals within schedule and budget.Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
- Manage workforce activities to meet project deadlines using SQDCP to make decisions
- Able to adjust priorities frequently to meet changing customer requests or needs
- Utilizes in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline and analytical thinking and technical experience to execute projects
- Ensures employees are completing necessary training requirements on time
- Has knowledge of best practices and how own area has been integrated with others; is aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market
- Uses some judgment and has some ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated manufacturing processes with technical variety and/or interdependent production cycles. Uses technical experience and analytical thinking. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own teams to arrive at decisions.
- Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects with low risks and resource requirements. Explains information, developing skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within field. Conveys performance expectations and may handle sensitive issues.
- Lead improvement efforts for equipment reliability, tooling, process controls, and safety/ergonomic solutions
- Process payroll and labor vouchering for multiple shifts
- Support product qualifications as needed
Required Qualifications
- Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of experience in a supervisory role in manufacturing or similar industry preferred OR a High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in Manufacturing or similar industry preferred, 2 of which are/were in a supervisory role OR Military Training.
Eligibility Requirements
• Ability and willingness to work the Off-Shift- 2nd Shift (3pm-11pm).
• Must be legally authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship now or in the future.
• This position is 100% onsite in Schenectady, NY.

- Experience in industrial/manufacturing environment
- Experience with customer owned products that require repair
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
- Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
- Established project management skills.

- Familiarity with basic lean principles – takt/cycle and 5S

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $74,800.00 and $112,200.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.
Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
