Job Description Summary
Become part of a winning team and help to deliver the Green Energy transition.We are looking for a self-motivated service engineer in power transformers able to manage site activities and to support/participate in commissioning of Power Transformers.
You will be responsible to lead technical portion of Power Transformers site installation and Commissioning, to support customers located in different countries and to be part of a community of experts able to support global customers on high technology equipment.
Job Description
Responsibilities:
• Lead maintenance, onsite activities, technical support for Power
Transformers.
• Manage preparations for site activities in coordination with end customer
and Project Managers, including Operation & Maintenance Manuals.
• Lead technical portion on warranty contracts running over several years
• Attend and lead customer meetings, identify solutions that meet needs.
• Support ITO team as needed during tenders for the technical part.
• Supervise Unloading, Erection, oil filtration, cabling, testing activity at site,
Co-ordination with Customer-Service Manager-Project Manager-Vendor for
site execution with safety as per EHS requirement of company. Verification
of site compliance of vendor. Bill processing & site closure.
• Co-ordination with Site Engineer, customer and factory for arrangement of
shortage/defective materials supply, Follow up with Purchase-WareHouse-
Packing for dispatch. Impact recorder data downloading & coordination
with Engineering for report. Raise Inspection call and co ordinate during
Loading.
• To ensure all site commissioning and installation activities are carried out
to the highest standards of Health, Safety and Quality and in a manner
that safeguards the environment.
• To ensure accurate on-site commissioning records, reports and quality
documentation are created, maintained, and circulated in accordance
with GE internal governance and GE quality plans.
• Liaise with Project Management and Commissioning Leadership to
effectively supervise, train, mentor and co-ordinate training and develop
ment plans for other assigned commissioning staff on site (Team
qualification).
• To undertake assignments throughout the UK and globally as and when
required.
• To undertake assignments or work on Offshore projects.
• Effectively undertakes operational responsibility for the daily
management and setting to work of site commissioning field resources in
order to maximize the potential for successful project delivery.
• Responsible for the preparation, creation and issue of site documentation
including but not limited to RAMS (Risk Assessment and Method
Statement), NCR’s (Non-conformance Report), TQ’s (Technical Queries) in
accordance with approved processes and procedures.
Technical knowledge:
• Technical knowledge and site experiences on Power Transformers.
• Technical knowledge and site experiences on commissioning of Power
transformers.
• Technical Knowledge and ability to resolve incidents on site
Abilities:
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to analyse and solve problems.
• Ability to document, write reports, and plan site activities.
• Notions of project management.
• Management of on-site teams.
• Excellent customer management skills, especially on site during an inci
dent.
Required:
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering / HND in Electrical Engineering
or Equivalent.
• Demonstrated engineering background and technical understanding of
power transformers
• Availability to travel
• Language and communication skills (fluent English)
• Business understanding: Knowledge and experience of Construction and
Field Services site work.
