Job Description Summary
The Process Engineer – Metrology reports to the Engineering Manager and is responsible for qualifying, industrializing, and sustaining inspection technologies used in repair operations. This role supports metrology processes including CMM, Blue Light Scanning, and Vision Systems, ensuring robust, repeatable, and efficient inspection methods that meet business and customer requirements.Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
Qualify and industrialize metrology and inspection technologies, including CMM, Blue Light Scanning, and Vision Systems
Develop, validate, and document process methods, work instructions, and standard operating procedures
Support qualification and certification of technician competencies, including inspection methods and GD&T interpretation/application
Troubleshoot process and equipment issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to achieve Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost objectives
Partner with Engineering, Quality, and Operations teams to improve process capability, consistency, and efficiency
Ensure compliance with applicable safety, quality, and operational requirements
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical discipline from an accredited university or college
Experience in a manufacturing or repair environment
Experience with metrology and inspection technologies such as CMM, Blue Light Scanning, and/or Vision Systems
Demonstrated experience documenting and qualifying process methods
Working knowledge of GD&T
Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills
Desired Characteristics
Knowledge of Measurement System Analysis (MSA)
Experience qualifying technician competencies and supporting technical training
Familiarity with process validation and industrialization
Understanding of continuous improvement and root cause problem-solving methods
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
