Job Description Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated Product Engineer to join our team and play a key role in driving technical excellence, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement across product repair and manufacturing activities. This role will serve as a critical technical interface between internal teams, external stakeholders, and production operations, with a strong focus on lean problem-solving, cost reduction, process optimization, and improving product quality.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong engineering foundation, practical manufacturing or repair experience, and a passion for applying lean principles to eliminate waste, reduce non-conformance, improve productivity, and deliver sustainable business results.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary technical point of contact for product repair-related discussions and implementation activities with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Lead technical evaluations and disposition decisions for production and repair challenges, including nonconforming materials, processes, and products.
  • Apply lean principles and structured problem-solving methodologies to identify root causes, eliminate waste, and improve process stability and flow.
  • Drive productivity and cost-out initiatives by identifying opportunities to reduce cycle time, rework, scrap, and other forms of operational waste.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to improve manufacturing and repair processes, enhance efficiency, and reduce non-conformance rates.
  • Assess technical competency gaps and coordinate targeted training for product line technicians to strengthen capability and ensure sustained performance.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost performance.
  • Develop, document, and maintain standard operating procedures, work instructions, and technical documentation to ensure consistency, compliance, and best-in-class execution.
  • Participate in process validation and verification activities to ensure manufacturing and repair processes meet company, customer, and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report key performance indicators to identify trends, implement corrective actions, and track sustained improvement.
  • Support root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action activities to reduce recurring defects and improve overall product reliability.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in operations, quality, process engineering, or product engineering in a related industry.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills with the ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze technical issues and support decision-making in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in heavy-duty gas turbine component repairs is highly advantageous.

Desired Characteristics

  • Embody and promote the GE Vernova Way through strong leadership, integrity, accountability, and collaboration.
  • Solid understanding of engineering drawings and the ability to interpret technical documentation accurately.
  • Strong analytical skills with practical experience in root cause analysis, problem solving, and corrective action implementation.
  • Detail-oriented, data-driven, and capable of making sound technical dispositions based on facts and evidence.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing concepts, continuous improvement tools, and waste reduction methodologies.
  • Proven ability to support productivity improvement, cost reduction, and quality improvement initiatives.
