Job Description Summary

As a member of the Projects and Operations Engineering team, the Quality Engineer will define and maintain engineering processes in collaboration with discipline and technical leaders in Steam Power Services ITR engineering. The Quality Engineer will lead the implementation of procedures and drive data-driven improvements to ensure product performance and project execution meet customer requirements and align with the Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC) philosophy. Furthermore, the Quality Engineer will conduct audits and promote a zero-defect culture, report on performance, provide training, collaborate with teams, and ensure compliance with industry standards and company policies.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Define, document, and maintain engineering processes
  • Lead the creation, revision, and implementation of engineering procedures to ensure alignment with business objectives and best practices.
  • Drive process improvement initiatives within engineering, utilizing data-driven methodologies to enhance efficiency, quality, and compliance.
  • Oversee process adherence through regular supervision, audits, and monitoring activities.
  • Carry out product and process audits.
  • Promotion of zero defect and quality stop work culture.
  • Provide regular reports and updates on process performance and improvement status to engineering leadership.
  • Provide training and support to engineering community.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify gaps, recommend solutions, and facilitate change management.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in engineering process definition, procedure creation, and process improvement.
  • Strong understanding of quality management systems, engineering standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise and monitor process adherence.
  • Effective communication skills with experience in presenting findings and updates to leadership.
  • Proficiency in process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) is desirable.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft programs such as: MS Word, MS Excel, Microsoft Power point and Microsoft Outlook.
